Chapter 8
“Was that that bad man chasing after us our Daddy? Were you attempting to escape from him?” Liam inquired, his gaze fixed
him?” Liam int
upon his mother.
Yes! Though his son is just a child, his cleverness and virtue know no bounds. Serenity thought inwardly, taken aback by her son’s keen understanding of the situation.
“Liam, buddy… who told this information to you?” Spencer inquired, his astonishment evident on his face.
Liam simply shrugged and remained silent, his attention still focused on his mother.
“Liam, my love, that man that man was not your father. As I have told you before, your father is already in the heavens–” Serenity’s explanation was interrupted by Liam.
“It’s alright, Mommy. We don’t need him anyway!” Liam nonchalantly dismissed the topic before turning his attention to his phone.
Serenity was at a loss for words. She turned to Spencer, only to find him equally stunned.
Serenity let out a sigh and settled back into her seat as Spencer began to drive the car.
The rest of the journey was spent in silence. Even Precious, usually a cheerful child, sat quietly in her mother’s lap.
Serenity had many thoughts racing through her mind. The more her son resembled his father in demeanor- cold and distant – the more worried she became.
She did not want her son to inherit any negative traits from his father, but it seemed that simply resembling him in appearance was not enough. Now, his character was also starting to mirror his father’s
Eventually, they arrived at Serenity’s new house, which Spencer had purchased beforehand, per her request.
“Thank goodness! We have finally arrived!” Spencer exclaimed as he got out of the car and opened the backseat for Liam to
exit
“Come on, buddy! We’re home now,” Spencer said to Liam, who pocketed his phone and followed his instructions.
Precious was already asleep by the time they reached their new home, so Serenity carried her inside while Spencer carried Liam
with one hand and pushed their bag with another hand. Together, they all entered their new home
“Wow! This is magnificent! Does this mean this is our new home now, Mommy? Do I have my own room?” Liam exclaimed with excitement as soon as they walked through the door.
Serenity smiled at her son, relieved that he seemed to have forgotten about their earlier conversation in the car.
“Yes, my dear. This is our new home. Mommy bought it Serenity stated proudly.
Spencer rolled his eyes at Serenity’s show of pride.
*Always so shameless. Showing off in front of your son makes my skin crawl. He teased playfully.
“Hey! That’s unfair!” Serenity protested as she gently laid Precious to sleep on the sofa. Just as she was about to explore the house, she caught Liam’s mischievous smile from the corner of her eye.
Serenity looked to Spencer before following Liam’s gaze. “Oh no! Don’t you dare, Li– Serenity began to warn her son, but he dashed forward before she could finish.
In the blink of an eye, Liam reached where Precious was slumbering and climbed on top of her. With a smart move, he sat on her little legs and started tickling her with glee.
Even in her sleep, Precious erupted into fits of laughter as she opened her eyes to see her brother tickling her. “Li–Liam! St–st- stop! Pl–please!” she shrieked with joy.
Serenity couldn’t contain her own laughter as she walked over and picked up Liam, taking him away from Precious. “You little rascall” she exclaimed, pinching his nose affectionately before tickling him with her free hand.

Lian giggled and hugged his mother’s neck. “She has to wake up and see our new horne!” he giggled between breaths.
“Alright, enough family love,” Spencer interjected, bringing the mother and twins back to reality. “I should be heading out now. Do you like the new house?” he asked, turning to Serenity.
“What? So soon!” Serenity frowned.
“Yeah, got a date,” Spencer confessed with a bhish
Serenity chuckled at his adorableness. To her, Spencer was still the same sweet teenager they met when they were children. The way they became best friends was quite strange, considering they were enemies in a fierce battle.
“Oh, I see. Well, I won’t keep you. Don’t worry, I love the house,” Serenity assured him.
Spencer nodded and bid farewell to the kids before leaving in a hurry, as if he was being chased.
“Mommy, let’s go see our room!” Precious exclaimed with excitement, bouncing up and down.
“Of course, Mom! I’m also eager to see our room, Liam delightedly chimed in
Serenity couldn’t help but chuckle at their enthusiasm before nodding in agreement.
After taking a thorough tour of the house, Serenity decided to order some food since her fridge was completely empty. It appeared that Spencer had forgotten to restock it
Once they finished their dinner and played with the twins, Serenity put them to bed as it was getting late.
Precious immediately drifted off to sleep as soon as her mother tucked her in. The little girl seemed exhausted, as if she had been running a marathon all day.
On the other hand, Liam couldn’t fall asleep right away. He simply lay in his mother’s arms, staring up at the ceiling.
Serenity looked down at her son and realized he was still awake. “Liam, my love, why aren’t you sleeping“” she asked, her voice filled with concern and love.
Liam didn’t answer right away. It was as if he needed to collect his thoughts before speaking.
Serenity grew increasingly worried when he still hadn’t responded. She slowly sat up, careful not to disturb Precious.
“Come here, son,” she whispered, holding out her arms to Liam. He immediately climbed into her lap, resting his head on her chest. The tears he had been holding onto finally came, and he sobbed softly
Now, Serenity’s worry turned to almost panic. “Oh, honey, please talk to Mommy. What’s wrong? Did I do something to upset you? If so, I am so sorry, my darling. Mommy loves you so much,” she cooed, trying to comfort her crying son.
“M–mommy Daddy isn’t in heaven, right? He just doesn’t want us. Alex and his friends teased us at school, saying Precious and I don’t have a father and that our Dad doesn’t want us because he never came to our school, Liam managed to say.. through his tears.
“What?” Serenity asked, her shock and anger evident. “Baby… why didn’t you tell me before we left?” she asked, her eyes welling up with tears. She had no idea that her children were being subjected to such cruelty at school.
It didn’t matter that Alex and his friends were just children; she would have dealt with them if she had known.
“But that’s true, Mommy! They’re correct!” Liam exclaimed, sitting up on his mother’s lap and gazing at her with teary eyes.
“What? What are you saying, my dear?” Serenity asked, her voice coaxing as she wiped away her son’s tears.
Her heart ached for her children. Despite her current wealth and success, some things can not be overlooked simply because of fame and fortune.
“I know most parents tell their kids that their other parent is in heaven if they don’t want them.
Guery
I also overheard you and Uncle Spencer talking in the car. And I know our dad’s name is Sebastien. I’ve heard you cry several times at night while calling out his name.

You even asked why he left us and if we deserved it. I may be a child, but I know a lot, Mommy.
Our daddy just doesn’t want us! Why? Are we not good enough for him? But Precious and I haven’t done anything wrong. right? We are both good kids!” Liam said, tears streaming down his face. The little boy looked so broken and pitiful
Serenity’s tears flowed down her face like a river. She had no idea her children were going through so much, and it was all because of her.
She had been so focused on making a name for herself that she didn’t consider her children’s emotions. She thought that with money, all their problems would be solved, and no one would look down on her. She believed that having money would give her children everything she never had as a child. Who would have thought things would turn out so badly for her kids in such a way?
Unbeknownst to the mother and son, Precious, lying beside them, had tears in her eyes as she heard her brother’s cries.
Serenity heard her sniffles and turned to see the little girl curled up on the bed, her body shaking.
“Precious! Come to Mom–” She stopped speaking as Precious got up and climbed into her lap with her brother.
“Don’t cry, my dear. Your father your father he just doesn’t know you exist. I’m sure he would love your if he knew Serenity tried to reassure them, but even she couldn’t believe her own words.
Will that cold and detached man ever accept them as his children?
The mother and children wept for a while before Serenity realized that the two small bodies on her lap were completely drained.
She glanced over and saw that the twins were now sleeping peacefully, their tear–stained faces still wet.
Gently, she laid them back in their bed before getting up and going to the bathroom to fetch a damp towel to clean their faces.
Once finished, she climbed back into bed and pulled the twins in close, protectively cradling them against her chest.
As she looked at her children’s peaceful sleeping faces, Serenity couldn’t help but feel a deep resentment towards Sébastien and the Williams family.
She had promised not to seek revenge, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t make their lives a little troublesome now that she was back
For the sake of her children, Serenity was willing to go back on her word and make Sébastien and his family pay dearly.
