Serenity couldn’t help but laugh. If she wanted to flirt with someone, surely she could have found someone better than the same man who once rejected her. But then again, thinking about it now, her actions may have caused some misunderstanding
indeed.
Finally, Serenity came to a conclusion and her face turned serious. “Miss Blake, I think you may have misunderstood me. I was talking to your fiancé about something important. I had thought that a smart and sensible guy like him would do the opposite of what I wanted to let him know.
Please, if you have any problems, keep them to yourself for now. I am currently busy and I don’t have time to entertain you. I didn’t come here to play. How many times do I have to tell you all that before you understand?
And just so you know, I have zero interest in your fiance. She said with irritation, trying to come off as nonchalant, but Ariana could see right through her.
Unbeknownst to Serenity, her words had unintentionally cut through Sebastian’s heart like a sharp knife. He didn’t let his emotions show. He was good at hiding his emotions and he didn’t want to blame her.
After all, he was the one who called everything off and divorced her on that raining night. From now on, he would try his best to make things right with her and regain her love.
When Ariana heard Serenity’s statement, she became even more furious. In fact, she was supposed to feel happy that Serenity had zero interest in Sebastian. However, she was feeling more agitated,
“You… Ariana began, but Sebastian interrupted her.
“Shut up, Ariana. You are not needed here. And besides, this discussion is something important. And let me remind you, you are not my wife yet. So i would advise if you know your place!” He said, cutting her off with cold and indifference gaze
He hasn’t forgotten what she did to his son and the woman had the audacity to say such stupid words in front of him. How dare shet

“Quiet, Ariana. I said your presence is not needed here. Now move aside!” Again c
came his cold words.
Sébastien publicly scolding made Ariana blush in embarrassment and she immediately left his side.
Serenity was taken aback by Sebastien’s harsh behavior towards Ariana. She was puzzled, to say the least.

on her face.
Herface was impassive as if she didn’t bother herself anymore with their affairs.
However, deep inside, Serenity was a bit happy for the couple current situation.
These two people didn’t want her to be happy 6 years ago, so why should she wish them happiness now? It wasn’t like she was an angel without any emotions.
When Sebastian saw Ariana wasn’t planning on moving away from them, he took Serenity’s elbow and led her to another place to have a secret conversation about the findings of the incident.
“Serene, I am so sorry for what happened. I didn’t… Sebastian started to apologize, but Serenity cut him off.
“Enough, Mr. Williams. We don’t have time for chat. Serenity’s stern words made Sebastian feel uncomfortable, but he deserved it. He couldn’t pretend that everything was okay between them, right.
“Alright, alright, alright. Now tell me, what were you going to say before Ariana interrupted us? Sebastian was ready to talk business now. The issue regarding their past and their feelings could be dealt with later. His company is now his main focus. And he was glad Serenity was by his side helping out.
Serenity looked at him sternly before saying, “I wasn’t done speaking before. You interrupted me by turning your head

without hearing what i wanted to say. You were going to ruin everything” Serenity reprimanded him.
Sebastian was confused and asked. “What? 1… I’m sorry but what did you find out about that employee?”
Before Serenity could continue, she noticed that employee looking their way and she gave Sebastian a stern look before saying, “Please don’t turn your head away. Just let me finish what I was saying. Her serious expression indicated that she wants him to know the gravity of the situation.
Serenity continued, “As I was saying, Alex and I saw an employee who has been exhibiting strange behavior. I saw him fidgeting with his hands and noticed something fishy. I knew that something was off about this particular person, so I spoke with Alex and asked him about his findings. He confirmed that he also discovered some suspicious actions from the same employee
With this in mind, we came up with a plan to personally talk to each employee and observe their reactions. We want to find out what this employee is up to, and how best to deal with the situation.” Serenity explained to Sebastian.
“I might sound a bit presumptuous, but as someone who is a lawyer, I know when something is amiss.” Serenity added, looking sharply at Sebastian.
I see no problem with you guys carrying out this plan. Go ahead and do whatever is necessary. I have full confidence in your abilities.” Sebastian gave his approval with a smile.
Serenity nodded and signaled for Alex to come back to her side. She informed him that everything was in order, and they could proceed with the plan
She also updated Harris, Sebastian’s father, about the current situation. There would be a big problem for MPK to handle if a spy is indeed in their midst.
Harris quickly agreed with the plan and decided that he would be the one to address the employees. He knew that his son was a cold–hearted person and that proper communication with the employees would be crucial in handling this situation
Clearing his throat, Harris clapped his hands to get everyone’s attention. “Hello, everyone. As you all may know, there was an incident in the company a few weeks ago. The police have been involved, and they still haven’t find out anything beneficial to help us with the case
I’m aware that the police came to conduct an investigation on all of you before. My son has also put in his best effort to gather information. When I say “investigation,” I mean we are looking for anything that may help us.
Miss Morgan and Mr. Runsfold will be asking you some questions. You may already have guesses about them, but let me introduce them to you once more. Miss Morgan is our company’s lawyer, who will defend us in court. And Mr. Runsfold is her assistant. They will be asking you questions regarding what incident. I hope you do not take this in a bad way, but we need to find some clues to protect our company.” Harris spoke in a friendly tone to the employees.
Sasha rolled her eyes at her husband. She couldn’t believe her he was talking to the employees with such politeness and friendliness.
Sasha thought her life seemed to be falling apart, and she regretted coming to the warrhouse in the first place.
Initially, she just wanted to come and make things difficult for Serenity, Who would have thought that even her husband would talk to these low–life employees with respect? How infuriating!
One of the employees raised his hand and spoke, “But boss, we already told the police everything we knew last week. Why are there new people here again to investigate us? Is there a new development on the case!
We have been loyal employees of this company for a long time now. Is it because of that one incident that tarnished our reputation?” The employee seemed to be annoyed by constantly being interrogated by the police and their bosses.
He had been working at MPK for a long time, and to him, MPK was like a family. It was not just a place to work, but a place to call home. How could his boss betray him and suspect them of any wrongdoing? It was just not fair.
Before Harris could a say a word, he noticed the man’s impoliteness and spoke, “Excuse me, sir. We are not here to accuse you or anything. Our lawyers are here to ask some few questions, and we need your cooperation, thats all Harris spoke with a bit
authoritative.
Serenity then jumped in and said, “I am aware that the police may have previously questioned you, but I cannot simply rely

on their statements. As Mr. Williams just mentioned, our purpose here is not to accuse you, but to simply ask a few questions. I hope that will not be a problem,” Serenity said calmly to the man.
The man, upon realizing Serenity’s demand, could not speak a word. All he could do was nod his head. It was clear he did not want to get involved in whatever was happening.
A seat was provided for each of them, including Harris, Sebastian, Serenity, Alex and the others.
After everyone was seated, Alex gestured for the employees to come forward one by one. As each employee stood before them. Alex and Serenity asked them questions and listened closely to their responses.
Alex took in their reactions and gage whether or not they were telling the truth. Thankfully, most of them seemed to be telling the truth
It was then the turn of the employee wearing light green shirt.
As he stood in front of Alex and Serenity, he nervously fidgeted with his hands.
Serenity and Alex exchanged a knowing look before Serenity spoke up. “Do you know anything about what happened here two weeks ago?” she asked curtly.
Everyone was taken aback by her unexpected question. It was a sudden change from their previous inquiries. What was Serenity up to?
The employee in question started to panic, but quickly composed himself and smiled at Serenity. Tm sorry, Miss. How could I know anything about such a big matter? I am just a lowly employee here,” he replied.
Serenity kept her gaze fixed on him. She knew he was hiding something, and she was determined to uncover the truth.
