The children’s room was carpeted with a thick, white rug. The curtains on the floor–to–ceiling windows were made of sheer fabric, fluttering gently in the breeze and casting dappled shadows on the carpet.
Sunny sat on the rug, engrossed in assembling a teddy bear made of building blocks that stood half his height. He was focused on his task. silent but not rejecting Audrey’s presence as she sat nearby
When her request to join him went unanswered, Audrey didn’t feel disappointed. She simply kept him company in silence.
Ax time quietly slipped away, she found herself drifting off, only to be jolted back to attention when she felt her shirt hem being gently hugged.
Stanked, she turned to see Sunny beside her. In his palm lay the final block needed to complete the terkly bear, which he held up to her with both hands. He still didn’t say anything, post stared at her with wide, innocent eyes.

Audrey’s gaze softened even further as she clapped in appreciation. “Wow, Sunny you did amazing! Sunny, can take a picture to show your dad? This is our first time building together, and I bet he’d be so envious of me.”
Sunny looked down, still contemplating the hand that had just held his lost in his thoughts.

In the meeting room, the atmosphere had grown tense
