Chapter 41 Don’t Hold or Kiss Me Anymore
Feeling irritated, Samuel was about to leave his study for a shower when he got a call from the family home. It was his mother. “Samuel,” she said, “tomorrow’s your grandfather’s birthday. Don’t forget to bring Eli for the family dinner.”
Samuel frowned, and said, “Got it.”
“And of course, expect your grandfather to ask about grandchildren.” She laughed and said, “Better prepare yourselves.”
Samuel hung up without responding, still reeling from his fight with Eliana. How could they even think about having kids in their current state?
As he left the study, he ran into Eliana dragging her suitcase from the master bedroom. He stopped, fixing her with a sharp gaze. Eliana acted like she didn’t see him, keeping her head down as she tried to pass by. Samuel’s anger flared again, and he grabbed her arm
Eliana glared up at him. “Let go,” she said, trying to pull her arm away.
Samuel was in no mood to argue with his young wife, “And where do you think you’re going this time of night?” he asked, and issued an order instead. He said: “Go back to the room. Tomorrow we’re visiting the family home”
Eliana was incredulous and said, “Why the hell should I listen to you?”
His response was immediate. “Because I’m your husband,” he said,
This made Eliana angrier, “A real husband wouldn’t act like you, siding with another woman against me.”
Samuel tried to beseech her. “Eliana,” he said, “When have I ever mistreated you?” This woman was so ungrateful,” he thought, and blamed himself for spoiling her.
“You’re kidding right, Samuel? You just hit me with your belt my butt still hurts. Staying would only make her angrier and more heartbroken. And now she was really mad, and determined. She said, “Anyway, I’ve decided to leave you. Get out of my way.”
But Samuel grabbed her suitcase and took it into the master bedroom. “When you misbehave, you get punished,” Samuel stated firmly.
Eliana followed, “What are you doing? Give me back my suitcase! Stop bullying me just because you’re bigger and stronger!”
Samuel dragged the suitcase into the closet, lifted it up, and placed it on the highest shelf. ‘Now the little shorty couldn’t reach it,’ he thought. He grabbed his pajamas and headed to the bathroom. Eliana had to follow him into the closet, saw the suitcase up high, and tried to make herself as tall as she could to reach it several times without success. Frustrated, she yelled at his retreating back: “Samuel, you jerk!”
As he disappeared into the bathroom and closed the door, Eliana looked up at her suitcase helplessly, ready to cry. Her ID and wallet were in there – where could she go without them? She had no choice but to go lie down on the bed.
After his shower, Samuel went downstairs to speak briefly with Chloe, personally helped her to bed, then returned to the master bedroom. He found the door locked again. Though he hadn’t planned to force things, thinking about the family’s pressure about having kids made him change his mind. He used his key to enter and approached Eliana’s bed.
Seeing she was already in bed, Samuel ignored their fight and tried to hold her. Eliana immediately pushed his hands away, retreating to the headboard. “Don’t touch me!” she yelled.
Samuel softened his expression and tone, “Stop this, Eliana. I know you don’t want to leave me.” He was thinking – what’s the point of a 30–year–old man arguing with a 20–year–old girl? She was still young: he shouldn’t be so hard on her.
Eliana looked at the man before her. Though she couldn’t deny how much she loved him she’d do anything for him his behavior had become unbearable.
“So what if I don’t want to leave you? You’re still going to marry someone else. From now on, don’t hold me, don’t kiss me, and don’t even think about sex! Now, either you leave, or I do!”
Samuel felt his anger rising. He stared coldly at the woman who insisted on being unreasonable. “Eliana, so now you even sleep with me?” He was trying hard to control his temper.

Eliana stood her ground stubbornly. “You can sleep with me if you kick that old woman out.” Samuel’s face turned cold-
