Chapter 43
I also left Grandma’s side and returned to Shane’s arm. He wasn’t asleep yet. Instead, he was at a nightclub, surrounded by flashing lights, alcohol, and beautiful women.
Shane’s fingers kept brushing against the bracelet in his hand to ease the irritation in his heart. One of his good friends, Frederick Freeman, handed a glass of whiskey to him.
“Shane, there must be some kind of misunderstanding. Don’t we all know what kind of person Allison is? There was a senior in college who relentlessly pursued her, but she still insisted on choosing you.
“That footage only showed the woman’s side profile. Who knows? This woman probably just
resembled Allison a lot.”
Shane said nothing as he continued chugging his alcohol.
The woman beside him wanted to rub herself against him. “Mr. Lundberg, you still have us even if Mrs. Lundberg has run away. Why don’t you let me ease your loneliness…”
Shane instantly smashed the wine glass. “Get lost!” One order from him caused all the ladies
to run out of the room.
Frederick wanted to advise Shane further, but Shane exclaimed bluntly, “You get out too!”
Only Shane remained in the spacious room. By the time I arrived, he already had plenty of alcohol.
His stomach must be hurting since he was pressing on his tummy while yelling my name.” Allison, why did you have to betray me? Why?”
Since he didn’t get any response from me, he picked up his phone again and began to make a voice recording.
“Allison, I’ll never let you off for daring to betray me! Just you wait, Allison! I’m going to Gildford tomorrow, so you can’t escape me!”
Devon pushed the door open and saw Shane leaning against the couch with a sinister expression. His bloodshot eyes held a hint of exhaustion and hostility, frightening Devon.
“Mr. Lundberg, you’re drunk. Let me send you home.”
“Go h
Allison isn’t even there. Why should I go home?”
“Mrs. Lundberg’s in Gildford. Have you forgotten that you asked me to book flight tickets to Gildford for the next day? You can see Mrs. Lundberg tomorrow, so you should go home and rest well tonight.”
Shane got up. He was unable to walk steadily. “Right. Ally doesn’t like me staying outside. I want to go home. Let’s go back home.”
Chapter 1
Shane drunkenly returned to our home. However, the one who opened the door was Amber, leaving Devon startled. “Ms. Schultz, what brings you here?”
“I was worried that Shane would be too triggered, so I came here to see him. How could you have let him drink so much?”
Amber and Devon helped Shane to the living room. Shane was drunkenly slumped against the backrest, completely lost to the world.
“Alright. I can handle things here. It’s getting late, so you can go back home first.”
Devon felt something was amiss since Amber and Shane weren’t children anymore. That meant these two would be spending time alone together.
“Mr. Lundberg had too much to drink. Ms. Schultz, I’m afraid you can’t handle him on your
OWNL…
“I asked you to leave. Don’t you understand?” Amber suddenly yelled, causing Devon to quickly leave in terror.
Before leaving, Devon watched Amber carefully wipe Shane’s face. Her eyes were clearly filled with love for him. There was nothing platonic about the look in her eyes.
When he closed the door, he saw Amber kiss Shane. Devon dared not to watch any longer and dashed off..
In a state of dizziness, Shane mistook Amber for me. He exclaimed in delight, “Ally, you’re back!”
That sprung him into action. He took the lead as he began entangling himself with Amber.
Meanwhile, I stood nearby coldly, glancing at the large tree opposite the room through the floor–to–ceiling window. Someone held a camera on the tree, snapping pictures of the shameless Shane and Amber.
