Chapter 4
Sebastian Pierce, Hansel’s longtime rival, finally took me to the hospital. I found this surprising since, in my previous life, he had been on a flight to Autlia this time.
Moreover, the Pierce family later moved all their assets there and settled permanently. Sebastian did not appear until after my death, attending my funeral as my former college
classmate.
I still remembered how he had cried at my grave, cursing my blindness to Hansel’s true nature. I wondered why he was at the hotel entrance this time and if my rebirth somehow caused other changes in this timeline.
Before I could ask him anything, I lost consciousness.
I woke up to the sound of people arguing. As I slowly opened my eyes and looked toward the noise, I saw Hansel raging at my hospital room door, with Ezra and Sebastian blocking his entry like two immovable walls.
“Sebastian, who are you to keep me from seeing my wife?” Hansel shouted. “You’re nothing! What right do you have to meddle in our business?”
Sebastian scoffed and replied, “Have you no shame, Hansel? You stole Amber’s ambulance and left her to nearly die from blood loss on the operating table.
“How dare you come to see her? Besides, you’re married now–the media is flooded with photos of your wedding to Nara. Lennox Group even officially announced the partnership between the Lennox and Sullivan families through marriage.
“That makes Nara your wife, not Amber. As her friend, I have every right to stop her ex- boyfriend from harassing her!”
“Yeah!” Ezra yelled angrily. “Before Amber passed out, she called you a complete bastard and said she never wants to see you again. Get lost!”
I lay in bed, numbly listening to everything. I had guessed Mr. Lennox would make the switch official when he silently approved of Hansel changing brides.
The Sullivans were eager to tie themselves to the Lennox family and would naturally cooperate with Mr. Lennox’s plans. At this point, unless Hansel wanted to destroy his reputation completely, he had no choice but to accept the reality of the situation.
“Amber is my wife!” Hansel shouted. “What happened with Nara was just a misunderstanding. Amber knows that!”
Sebastian finally snapped and punched him hard in the face. As they started brawling, I worried that Sebastian would get into trouble.

Chapter 4
I forced myself to shout, “Stop!”
Hearing my voice, they immediately separated and rushed toward me. Ezra reached me first, his eyes red as he said worriedly, “Amber, you’re awake!”
Looking at my now–flat stomach, he shuffled awkwardly and added, “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you.”
I smiled and patted his head. He was only 13, just a child. I knew he had already done his best.
“The baby and I weren’t meant to be. It’s not your fault,” I replied gently.
“Did you get permission from your teachers? Eighth grade is crucial. I’m fine now, so you should get back to school.”
Ezra shook his head stubbornly. “I’m not going anywhere, Amber. I’m staying with you.”
“Are you disobeying me now?” I said with mock sternness. “Don’t worry, Sebastian will take good care of me.”
Though I had only meant to reassure Ezra, Hansel overheard and lunged forward to grab my hand. “Amber, you’re my wife! How can you let another man take care of you?”
I turned to him and pulled my hand away with a cold smile. “Are we legally married?”
Hansel’s expression changed slightly as he mumbled, “If you want, we can register our marriage right now.”
I shook my head with a mocking laugh. “Are you sure? How will you explain that to your parents? To Nara? To the public?”
I watched as Hansel’s face gradually drained of color, but he persisted. “Amber, I know you’re angry, but I had no idea my father would do this.
“Give me some time, and I’ll explain everything to him. I’ll sort everything out and then marry you with all the celebration you deserve.
When Ezra tried to speak, I stopped him and instead asked, “Fine. How much time do you need?”
