As Camilla spoke, she snapped the computer shut and effortlessly pulled Declan to his feet. She rifled through his pockets, retrieving his phone

Once she stuffed the phone into her pocket, she waved for the security guards to come in. Without a second glance at Declan, still standing there in shock, she issued her orders

Remember this face. Whenever you see her, throw her out. Don’t let her set foot in the company. If I find out she’s been here, I’ll fire all of you,she added, her voice cold

The guards exchanged wary glances before quickly seizing Declan and dragging him out

It wasn’t until he was halfway out the door that Declan seemed to realize what was happening. Clutching the doorframe, he called back, shouting, I’ll give you the password! I’ll help pay off the debts!”

Camilla, however, didn’t even bother to look at him. Using Declan’s fingerprint, she unlocked his phone

She opened one app after another: PayPal, banking appsshe went through everything with a smirk growing on her face. The more she searched, the more her eyes sparkled, and she muttered to herself, I’ve hit the jackpot!”

Declan, on the other hand, was tossed out into the street, penniless and without a phone or keys

With nowhere to go, he wandered aimlessly, stopping strangers to ask for a phone so he

could call me

By the time I landed and switched off airplane mode, I had over sixty missed calls from

him

Chuckling to myself, I sat down with my mother at a restaurant, ordered, and casually picked up the phone

Having been trying to reach me for a whole day, Declan was not in the best mood. His voice exploded on the other end the moment I answered, his frustration evident in every word

Louisa! What the hell? I thought you died! I called you over sixty times, and not a single one of them went through!”

Fine. It seemed he wasn’t going straight to the point and was just trying to vent

I rolled my eyes and, still chewing on a bite of food, responded, Why should I pick up? Are you calling to let me know when your funeral is? How impatient.”

He faltered on the other end, the line going quiet for a moment

I could almost hear him taking a breath before he was about to speak again

Before he could, I hung up, swiftly blocking the number he had called from

I figured it belonged to a passerby. Good luck trying to find another phone to borrow and bothering me under the hot sun

A small punishment for a cheating jerkexactly what he deserved

Later that day, after a little sightseeing and relaxing in the hotel’s bathtub, I turned off airplane mode again

Declan was now at a security office in a park, clutching a guard’s phone and repeatedly dialing my number

The moment my phone buzzed with an incoming call, I answered, and his voice, no longer angry, came through faintly

Did you switch our bodies? Hurry up and switch us back.”

I couldn’t help but laugh, though I pretended to be confused

Wait, has that been bothering you? But I thought you loved Camilla! Shouldn’t you be thrilled about this?”

I started singing, just to annoy him a little more

Take you back to every memory, hold you close like it’s meant to be, through the highs and all the lows, I’ll never let you go…

Honey, she’s your true love. Are you sure you want to let her go now?”

I could hear him fall silent on the other end

But I could also picture him pulling the phone away and slapping himself hard a few times, no doubt cursing me under his breath

After a few moments of heavy breathing, he attempted to sound normal again

That doesn’t concern you. You’re the reason we swapped bodies, so you have to fix it, or-

Before he could finish, I interrupted

Or what? What are you going to do if I don’t, huh?”

I could practically hear his hand hovering in the air, ready to slap himself again

This time, he didn’t even try to hide it, slapping his own face with force and muttering insults about me being vile and evil

I couldn’t help but burst into uncontrollable laughter, quickly hanging up again

I was on a fiveday tour, after all. I wouldn’t be back until then

As a show of sincerity, I’d wait until I got back to resolve this facetoface

Declan, kicked out and without a place to go, found himself utterly miserable

He had nowhere to return to, no money, and for the next five days, all he could do was wander through parks

On the rare occasion when things were better, he could find an empty bench under a streetlamp and get a few hours of sleep

But on the bad nights, he couldn’t even rest, always wary of local thugs who might try to mess with him
