“She’s dead! And it’s your fault!” My mother cried out in anguish, slapping Drake hard across
the face.
Drake didn’t dodge; instead, his eyes turned red.
My mother raised her hand again, but my father stopped her and pulled her into his embrace.
“I heard today is your wedding. If you have any shred of compassion for Lyra, please leave.” My father said in a stern voice. “I don’t think Lyra would want to see you right now.”
My father motioned his Beta and two wolf soldiers to escort Drake out.
But Drake got out of their grip and threw himself at my gravestone.
“No, this is impossible! I don’t believe she’s dead! You’re all working together to spite me because I’m marrying Aeris, aren’t you?”
Drake leaped into the grave, pushing aside the dirt and flowers on my coffin and trying to pry it open.
My father and Caden rushed to pull him back.

“What the hell are you doing?“Caden roared.
“When she was alive, you tormented her! Now that she’s dead, you won’t let her rest in peace? “Caden pushed him hard to the ground.
“No! I just need to know if she’s really… really…, Drake’s voice broke, and he began sobbing uncontrollably.
“Please, tell me this isn’t true…
I never expected Drake to shed tears for my death
So, part of his heart cared for me?Not out of love, but maybe out of pity or guilt. But It was late. I was already dead.
At that moment, Aeris arrived.
“Drake, what did they do to you?” Suddenly, Aeris came rushing to him and held him.
She was still wearing her wedding gown, which made my mother’s pain worse.
“You wretched woman! You’re also responsible for my daughter’s death!” My mother screamed, tearing Aeris’s veil from her head.
“What are you doing, you mad woman?” Aeris shrieked.
“Your daughter’s death has nothing to do with us! When Drake rejected her, she was fine. Who knows what she did in these past few days to get herself killed?”
“You-!” My mother tried to fight back, but before words could roll out, she fainted.
The funeral descended into chaos.
“How dare you speak about Lyra like that!” Caden stepped forward, glaring at Aeris.
“I’ve never hit a woman before, but you’re testing me. You’re not welcome here–leave!”
More voices began shouting, demanding Drake and Aeris leave.
“Who brings a bride to their ex–wife’s funeral? You’re the cruelest man I’ve ever seen!” One of the attendees yelled. “Go back to your wedding! You’re not wanted here!”
“Get out, you both! Lyra didn’t like you!” One of my cousins threw a clump of mud at Aeris, staining her pristine white wedding dress.
“You’ve gone too far!” Aeris cried, lifting her dress as she turned to Drake. “Let’s go! These people are insane!”
Drake stood frozen as if his soul had left his body. He then pushed Aeris’s hand away.
“You go back. I’m staying here for Lyra’s funeral.”
