Chapter 22
Taylor waited for Ava to say there, but Ava showed no sign of opening her mouth and speaking more
Taylor smiled ” seems like our new classmate is not very talkative, so her words should be treasured Whe has an empty
“Ti seat next to them!”
Wendy suddenly kicked Jackie Listo, who was sitting beside her
Wendy often teased Jackie, so the boy looked at her pitifully now Why did you kick me for!”
“What do you think? Wendy asked.
She raised her hand and said to Taylor, “Mr. Light, Jackie said that he wants to give his spot to the new classmate. Ava can sit by me
Jackie did not dere to say anything. Taylor looked at him and asked for his opinion. “Jackie, is that so
Thus, Jackie moved his desk backward while another classmate hurried to bring a new desk over for Ava
However, Ava easily lifted the empty desk and placed it next to Wendy.
After Ava took her seat, Taylor passed out the exam papers,
“You all just had a seven–day holiday. Did you all study hard at home? So, instead of having class today, we will have an exam. You will not get ranked, but I still hope that everyone can try their best.”
The students instantly started complaining. “No way. Mr. Light, this is too cruel!”
Taylor was unmoved by their groans and passed out the papers.
Sophia glanced at Ava. She had a troubled expression.
When Ava got the papers, she scanned through them quickly.

teps of her past life.
She did not want to retrace the steps
Ava picked up her pen and wrote down her name. Then she started answering quickly.
They would soon have various college application–related exams, so this test used the same difficulty.
Rosemont High School taught all the knowledge during the first three years. Thus, senior year was for all sorts of reviewing and mock exams.
The duration of this test was the same as for the actual exams too.

Ava stood up in less than 30 minutes and handed in the test.
The other students started whispering amongst themselves.
“Woah, Ava already handed it in?”
“Maybe she doesn’t know how to answer the questions.”
“That makes sense. I bet she doesn’t know senior–level math and can’t figure it out.”
“But even if she does not know how to, she should still take som time to try and get some points.”
Ava ignored all the whispers and placed her test on the podium
“Ava, you finished?”
Even Taylor was surprised.
Yes, I’m done. I will

for a walk.”
There was almost one hour left.
Taylor scanned the test paper, and he seemed to be frozen instantly.
The test was clean and neat. Every question had an answer.
He looked through the answers quickly. They all seemed to be correct.
Taylor gave up on proctoring the exam and started to check Ava’s answers.
Seeing how Taylor’s expression had turned serious, Michelle smirked to herself.
She thought that Taylor must be pissed.
The second class was a literature exam. Ava took one hour to finish it.
The third class was a foreign language exam. Ava only took half an hour to finish.
The day went by. The last class was physics; as before, Ava only took half an hour before handing in the test.
However, she could not leave early.
She had to wait for Sophia.
Everyone kept whispering about her behind her back.
They said things like, “This new student is really pretty, but she’s not very conventional. Or is she purposely doing this to attract attention?”
Michelle was full of disdain. She bet that Ava could not figure out the answers and had just given up-
Ava did not care what the others thought
She walked to the little forest on the campus of Rosemont High School. No one was around, so she adeptly climbed onto a

tree and closed her eyes. She fell asleep without realizing
Outside the door, Gabriel and Joshua walked side by side.
“Why are you here at school? To pick Wendy up? Since when we you so nice! Just admit it. You are here to check out Ava. right?”
Joshua barraged Gabriel with questions. He refused to stop until he got an answer.
Gabriel glanced at Joshua. “Are you that bored?”
“Yes, of course I am. You know, my workers are all super skilled. If I have to do everything as the boss, why would I hire them with such high salaries?”
Of course, coming to watch high school drama was more interesting.
“Also, did you hear that the Walker family’s backyard caught on fire randomly I burned down a shed and Mrs. Walker’s rose garden.”
Joshua looked like he was about to pull
wo out the popcorn.
“What do you think this is all about?”
Gabriel shot him a look. “How would I know?”
Joshua just found it curious.
As they roamed, they entered the little forest.
This patch of trees was next to Rosemont High School’s track. They could cross through it and reach the school building.
A leaf floated through the air.
Gabriel could not help but look up toward the tree. His eyes lit up instantly.
Joshua followed his eyes and looked through the mass of leaves. From their angle, they could see a girl’s face.
She was asleep on a tree branch.
She wore a long black skirt and a white chiffon shirt. However, this simple outfit could not hide how beautiful she was.
“Ava?” Joshua said without thinking.
Just as Gabriel was about to stop him. Joshua called out again, “Ava!”
Joshua’s voice startled the birds in the forest and made Ava open her eyes.
She had been in the middle of a dream
For some reason, she had dreamed of Gabriel.
In her dream, Gabriel had walked to her side and called out to her in a gentle and soft voice. “Ava.”
Ava forgot that she was lying on a tree branch. She tipped over and fell from the tree.

Gabiri was shocked. He darteal over like an arrow and reached out his hands.
As Ava fell, she instinctively grabbed a branch so she did not fall to Gabriels arms with too much force.
The two stared at each other Gabriel’s eyes were soft and gentle like they had been in Ava’s dream.
Ava realized that she was holding Gabriel’s shirt tightly as if it was her last straw of hope
Joshua was standing on the side, and his jaw had practically dropped to the ground.
What was this? A hero rescuing the damsel in distress?
The evening wind blew by, lifting strands of Ava’s hair. They brushed against Gabriel’s cheeks and tickled him.
Ava snapped out of her thoughts. She hurriedly jumped out of Gabriel’s arms and stood properly. She acted like an obedient student who had just been caught breaking a rule.
“Gabe, thank you. Why are you here?”
On the side. Joshua rubbed his chin. He
uld clearly see the passionate glow in Gabriel’s eyes.
What was Gabriel thinking?!
Even though Ava was pretty, she was still too young!
This was practically illegal and completely shameless!
“My cousin is a student here, so I came for a visit,” Gabriel explained.
“Oh,” Ava said. “I’m leaving now.”
“Ava!” two voices called out to her in unison right at that moment
