Chapter 9
“Please, believe me. You really are my fiancée. You’re going to marry me, and you’ll have two healthy sons.”
After class, a crowd gathered around on the lawn.
Dylan, with a face full of scars and one missing arm, was kneeling in front of a girl, desperately clutching her leg and pleading.
I instantly recognized the girl as Dylan’s wife from my past life.
In my previous life, Dylan and she had met and fallen in love right here on this campus and eventually got married.
I never expected that he would sneak into Leranda and seek out his former lover.
The girl kicked him away impatiently. “I don’t know you. Get lost, or I’ll call security.”
Dylan begged frantically.
“I’m not lying! We’re really married! If you don’t believe me, I can tell you all sorts of things about you that no one else knows.
“Like how you have a mole on the sole of your foot, and how when you were six, you fell off the slide. Before you came to Leranda, you dated three different guys. Am I right?”

The girl froze, her face instantly darkened with anger. “You actually hired someone to investigate me? You’re disgusting!”
She pulled out her phone and called the police.
Soon, the sound of sirens filled the air. Dylan’s expression paled, and he hurriedly stood up, running off in panic.
He dashed straight toward a secluded corner of the campus.
As his eyes swept over me, he froze for a moment, then shakily reached out. “Zoey… is it really you?”
I turned to leave.
Dylan lunged and grabbed my pant leg, kneeling down and banging his head desperately. “Zoey, you can’t just leave me like this! I owe millions to loan sharks. Please, just give me 10 million dollars!”
“Ten million? Why should I? Just because you ruined two of my
lives?”
Dylan’s eyes darted around. Suddenly, he hissed under his breath, “No! It’s all my parents‘ fault! They’re the ones to blame!”
I sighed and pulled out my phone, transferring one million dollars to
him.
For a moment, joy spread across his face, but then the phone

beeped, and the sound of the entire million being deducted echoed.
The money was instantly snatched up by the loan sharks.
Dylan looked at me, still pleading. “Zoey… please…”
“Aren’t you the one who blamed our parents?”
His eyes suddenly widened in realization.
A month later, I saw the news about him causing a car crash that killed our parents.
Our parents were crushed by a truck and died on the spot.
Dylan was soon arrested by the police after they found evidence, and he was sentenced to death.
It was said that before his execution, he went mad in his cell, ranting and cursing at his parents and his sister.
Then, out of nowhere, he started praying, begging for one more chance, saying that if he had it, he would surely make 100 million dollars.
I turned off my phone.
The girl across from me frowned and scolded, “You’re checking your phone during a business discussion? Who do
you think
you are?”

I smiled slightly at the woman in front of me.
“Sorry, where were we?”
