I looked towards the door. It was Michael, my
brother
く
All the emotions I had been holding in came pouring out. I started sobbing.
Tom got even more angry, charging towards
the door and throwing a punch at Michael.
A couple of bodyguards appeared behind
Michael and quickly pinned Tom to the
ground.
Michael didn’t even glance at him. He walked
straight to the bed, his hands shaking as he
reached out to touch the cut on my forehead.
“I’m sorry, Lily. I’m late.”
I shook my head, crying, and threw my arms
around him.
L
I had quietly sent Michael a message when I
heard Faye and her mom talking in the
ambulance.
Thank God, he was here.
Tom struggled on the floor, yelling when he
saw me and Michael hugging.
“Lily! How dare you! How dare you!”
“Let me up. If you’re a man, face me.”
“Lily is my wife. You have no right to touch
her. Let her go! Let her go!”
Michael patted my head. “It’s okay. I’m here.”
Then he turned to Tom, crouching down to
look him in the eye.
L
“Tom, it’s nice to finally meet you.
“I just got back the other day. I’m so sorry to
meet under these circumstances.”
“My name is Michael, Lily’s brother.”
Tom stopped struggling. He looked shocked.
After a moment, he whispered.
“No, that’s not true. The company overseas,
how would you have the time to be here?”
“You’re her lover! Don’t pretend to be her
brother!”
“Don’t think I’ll believe you!”
Г
Michael stood up, straightened his suit, and
looked at Tom.
“My company business is good. I’m here to
build business in United States.
“Your and Lily family had problem at first, but
her only love was you. Even left family only to
be by your side.
“I haven’t seen her in three years, and you
give me this big greeting. You’re something
else, Tom.”
Tom was about to say something, when
Michael’s phone rang.
Michael ignored him, answering the video call.
It was my parents.
L
My mom’s voice came over the phone as
soon as it connected.
“Michael, Michael, have you seen your
sister?”
“How is she? Is she okay? Show me.”
Michael pointed the phone at Tom, who was
still on the floor.
“Mom, hold on. I want you to see this guy
first.”
“He’s the one who called me her lover, said
Lily’s baby was a bastard, and forced her to
have an abortion.”
“So, what should we do about this?”
<
So, what should we do apoUL INIS?
Tom went white as a ghost when he saw my
parents on the screen.
He had never met Michael, but he had met my
parents at the wedding.
Before Tom could say anything, my dad
yelled.
“My daughter doesn’t deserve to be treated
like this!”
“Divorce! He has to divorce her!”
