Michael was ready to explode, and started to
stand, but I grabbed his arm and pulled him
back down. I looked Tom in the eye, scoffing.
“Tom, do you actually believe I have some
lover, or are you just afraid to accept the
truth?”
“You didn’t believe me when I said that was
my brother. The proof is right in front of you,

“Tom, are you still lying to yourself?”
Tom’s face changed a little, and he frowned.
“But Faye and I have been friends for a long

Tom walked out of the room without looking
back.
He looked like he was walking with purpose,
but I noticed his hands were shaking.

confident as she had been a few days before.

Michael moved his leg away, looking
