Chapter 39
The car was waiting outside. As soon as Owen stepped out of the hospital, his assistant, Thomas Hampton, came over holding an umbrella
Thomas, like Timothy, was one of Owen’s assistants, though Thomas usually handled more of the business side while Timothy focused on personal tasks. Thomas was surprised when Timothy called him over, especially when he saw Owen carrying a woman out of the hospital.
He had been working alongside Owen for a long time and had never seen him care for a woman like this not even close. He’d never seen Owen this attentive to anyone, let alone carrying someone like this. Was this woman someone new?
Thomas didn’t dare to speculate too much, but he knew that tonight’s dinner with the CEO of Hendon Group was crucial. Should he remind Owen?
He watched Owen carefully place the woman into the cat and hesitated for a moment before speaking up, “Mr. Jenson, the meeting with Hendon Group’s CEO is already underway=”
“Have Dylan handle it for now. I’ll join later,” oven replied.
Thomas blinked in surprise, then glanced at Aurora in the car. He quickly returned to his usual professional demeanor. “Got it.”
Of course, he wasn’t going to question Owen’s decision. He just made the necessary arrangements.
When Owen and Aurora arrived at their complex, he carried her upstairs to the unit.
Aurora, now more resigned, just wanted to get home and take a proper shower. Her body was starting to feel like it was at its limit from the smell that kept lingering
But she didn’t notice any sign of disgust from Owen
To her surprise, someone was already waiting for them at the door when they got inside. A woman greeted them warmly as soon as they stepped inside, “Good evening. Mr. Jenson, Ms. Reed!”
Aurora was taken aback.
Owen gently placed her on the couch and explained, “This is Connie Robinson. Since you’re having trouble moving around, I asked her to stay and help take care of YOU”
“Yes, Ms. Reed. If you need anything, just let me know,” Connie said with a bright smile.
“Thank you, but I can manage…” Aurora started to respond, but Owen’s low, warm voice interrupted her.
“Didn’t you say you weren’t feeling well? Connie has already run the bath. Take a proper shower. You can’t get your wounds wet, so let her assist you.”
“That’s right, Ms. Reed. You should drink some hot water first. It’s still cold out, and you’ve been exposed to the wind for a while. Be careful not to catch a cold.”
Connie handed Aurora a pair of slippers and then poured her a cup of hot water.
Aurora glanced at Owen, her eyes still slightly red. They were filled with surprise. She was taken aback by how considerate he was.
It made her feel oddly uncomfortable….
“Drink this, then take a good bath,” Owen said, removing his jacket from her shoulders.
Aurora had no choice but to take the cup and sip it. Then, she headed to the bathroom.
Inside, the bathtub was already filled with water, and flower petals floated on top, giving off a light, delicate fragrance.
As Aurora soaked in the warm bath, she immediately felt the heat wrap around her. With Connie’s skillful touch, she felt completely relaxed, as if her tense muscles were finally unwinding. She quicidy started to feel drowsy
“Is the pressure okay, Ms. Reed?” Connie asked softly when she noticed Aurora frown.
Aurora hummed.
