Chapter 43
It took Rosalie a while to regain her composure. She hurriedly started to make arrangements.
But with something this big–especially when Aurora was the victim–how could they possibly keep it under wraps?
As soon as the cops stepped into Vecchi, the media got the tip. By the time Ryan and Whitney were taken into the police car, entertainment news had already
exploded.
Vencchi and Starline Entertainment didn’t have time to roll out any PR measures. While the headlines and trending topics didn’t openly speculate, netizens and smaller media outlets were quick to pickup on Ryan and Whitney being taken away.
The comments sections exploded with wild guesses and theories. Some smaller media outlets had already published news, even including photos from netizens showing Ryan and Whitney being taken by the police
Vencchi and Starline Entertainment tried to do PR damage control and suppress the news, but no matter how much they offered, no one was willing to cooperate.
After Whitney entered the interrogation room, she realized the seriousness of the situation.
The officers questioned her not only about the fans but also about her whereabouts, her background, and especially her overseas activities and social connections. What shocked Whitney even more was that among those questioning her were people wearing the uniforms of the prosecutor’s office.
There was quite a crowd, making it seem like a high–profile case.
Could Aurora be seriously injured? on the brink of death? Or maybe already dead?
Whitney wasn’t stupid enough to openly instruct her fans to commit violence. She merely borrowed their hands. Yet she couldn’t understand why Aurora’s case would draw such heavy attention.
Could it be because of Whitney’s fame?
Afterall, she was a celebrity, the future lady boss of Starline Entertainment, and the daughter of the music diva, Sally.
Thinking this way, Whitney suddenly realized it was all because of her status. The authorities had to treat this seriously because the impact was huge,
Still, she didn’t feel she should waste time here. It wasn’t like she did it herself. She was already showing more than enough respect by cooperating with their so called investigation. Once she got out, she’d make sure Aurora’s reputation was ruined
“Ms. Kirin, I advise you to cooperate and answer the questions,” said one of the officers, frowning at Whitney’s attitude.
*Lunderstand your concern, but this has nothing to do with me. Those are just brainless fans acting on their own. Besides, Aurora isn’t umocent. If she hadn’t done something to provoke them, why would the fans dare to attack?” Whitney said firmly
“Besides, I have so many fans. I can’t be responsible for every single one who breaks the law, You’re law enforcement. You should understand that, right? I’m a public figure. Do you have any idea how much damage your actions today could cause me? Have you ever considered that? I won’t let this slide. I want to speak to your superiors”
Whitney sneered, folding her arms as she looked at them with a haughty expression
“Ms. Klein, we wouldn’t have brought you in it we didn’t have evidence. Didn’t you consider that by inciting fans to attack a distinguished university professor, those fans would face legal consequences? How exactly were you in contact with them? Are you aware of their backgrounds?”
“You’re ridiculous. I have countless fans. How could I know the background of each one? I suggest you release me right now. My Lawyer will be here soon. Until then, I won’t answer any more questions. Also, I intend to hold you accountable for today…”
sist, we’ll wait. Let’s see if you can stay this defiant.”
“Alright, Ms. Klein. Since you insist,
With that, the officers packed up their things and left the interrogation room.
