After Jill and Neil left, it took Shawn a while to process the situation. He reached out to hold my hand and said, “I’ve already chased them away, honey. Can we just live our lives properly from now on?”
He looked at me expectantly. I merely chuckled and pushed his luggage out the door. Then, I stood there and looked at him.
He stared into my eyes for a long, only leaving while looking defeated when he was sure I wouldn’t change my mind. Shortly after, I received a text from him. “I won’t agree to a divorce. We can talk about this after you’ve calmed down.”
The following day, I asked the realtor to meet me at the apartment. I signed a contract and authorized him to handle all matters related to the sale of the apartment.
