I thought Elijah would be nicer to Yvonne. Who would’ve thought Yvonne would turn out to be like me instead?
It seemed that Elijah’s so–called love was fake. With his attitude, the object of his affections would always become the victim of his selfishness.
I could only shake my head quietly.

Alex’s eyes kept darting to the table behind me. She complained about Elijah’s behavior throughout dinner.

After we were done with our meal, we called for the check. That was when Elijah noticed

Alex just clicked her tongue. “No wonder you’ve successfully become a homewrecker. Turns out you’re capable of lying to yourself when the time calls for it.”
