After I died, my husband treated my twin sis…

Chapter 1
After a cold war with my husband, William Dawson, I was fatally stabbed three times during a robbery.
My twin sister, Hannah Palmer, drowning in gambling debts, deliberately took my place after my death to get close to William.
She acted like a complete doormat around William.
Unlike me, she never got jealous of William’s first love. She’d even bring them condoms when they were fooling around in our marital bed.
William finally cracked and asked Hannah what happened to his jealous wife, who used to fight for his attention.
I had to laugh at that.
I’d been dead all this time. How hadn’t he noticed?

The door opened, and my husband, William, walked in from outside.
Behind him was Eleanor Bishop, his first love.
His smile vanished when he glanced at the dining table, replaced by a stern expression.

dinner? Where’s the food?”
“I” quickly poked my head out of the kitchen.
I had a placating smile on my face.

“I’m sorry, Honey. Let me get you some fruit to snack on while I finish up. Dinner will be ready soon.”
William frowned at my response, which was unusual for him.
I knew precisely why he was frowning.
I had changed from how I used to be.
In the past, I couldn’t even stand hearing Eleanor’s name, let alone having William bring her home for dinner.
But now I was, wearing an appeasing smile, not angry at all, even offering them fruit to tide them over.
Eleanor was surprised by “my” behavior, but she quickly composed herself and said, “Don’t worry. I’ll help you.”
With that, she walked into the kitchen.
She picked up the pot of boiling water from the stove.
But she was careless. Her hand slipped as soon as she lifted it, and the pot crashed to the floor, splashing scalding water all
Over me.
“My” skin instantly turned an angry red.

William rushed into the kitchen immediately. Still, his first words were to Eleanor instead of checking my injury. “Are you okay?”
His question seemed to snap Eleanor out of her daze.
Her eyes turned red with tears. “William, I didn’t mean to. I was trying to help…”
Probably afraid that “I” would blame Eleanor, William cut in before “I” could speak. “Hazel, Eleanor didn’t do it on purpose. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for being careless!”
He then turned to Eleanor, his voice softening as he comforted her.
“Don’t worry. She won’t be mad. I know you didn’t mean it. Just ignore her!”
I found William’s words laughable.
Of course I wouldn’t be mad.
The reason “I” wouldn’t be mad was because the person standing in front of him wasn’t me. It was my sister Hannah.
Hannah and I were twins.
But we had different personalities. I was warm and obedient since childhood. At the same time, Hannah had always been rebellious and cold.
Hannah and I were like two parallel lines, heading in entirely

While I followed our parents‘ wishes, studying and growing up according to plan, Hannah dropped out of high school and even landed in jail for fighting, making our parents so angry they practically disowned her.
After Hannah got out of jail, our parents gave her ten thousand dollars and cut ties with her, declaring she was on her own.
I hadn’t seen Hannah since then.
A few years after I graduated from college and started working, I married William.
Hannah wasn’t at my wedding.
I had never told William about having a twin sister named Hannah, so he had no idea that the person standing before him now, pretending to be me, was my sister.
The next time I saw Hannah was the day I was stabbed to death by a criminal.
I was lying there covered in blood, and the attacker had already disappeared.
I was at the entrance of an alley, and my phone was dead, so I was about to call passersby for help.
At that moment, someone happened to walk by.
