After I died, my husband treated my twin sis…

Days kept passing by.
William refused to sign the divorce papers and even told Hannah: [Dream on if you think I’ll divorce you!]
I was more confused than ever.
Hadn’t William been desperate to divorce me after Eleanor returned to the country?

During our past arguments, he would always yell at me for being unreasonable, trying everything he could to get a divorce.
Back then, when I refused, William would get so angry his face
would turn red.
Now that Hannah agreed to it on my behalf, he didn’t want to.
Hannah couldn’t take it anymore and went to find William with the divorce papers.
To convince William to agree to the divorce, Hannah specially prepared seven dishes, all his favorites.
She brought them to him.
At the company, Hannah’s home–cooked meals sat on William’s desk.
The delicious aroma filled his office, and the colorful dishes

Hannah greeted him with the brightest smile she could muster.
William frowned at Hannah’s attempts to please him.
Seeing his favorite dishes on the table, he assumed I was trying
to win him back.
His voice carried a hint of smugness, thinking he had me all figured out.
“Hazel, I knew your indifferent act was just for show. You love me too much to let me go to Eleanor. Look how quickly you dropped the act.”
William probably thought Hannah’s previous indifference was all pretense.
He thought she couldn’t keep up the act anymore and was back to trying to please him.
William sat casually at the table, lazily playing with his watch.
But in the next moment, he froze.
Hannah had pulled out the divorce papers and pushed them before him.
William’s frown deepened.
“What are you trying to do?”

“Getting a divorce so you can be with Eleanor. Everyone wins.”
“Hazel, I thought those divorce papers were a joke. You want to
divorce me?!”
His voice shot up as if he couldn’t believe these words were coming from my mouth.
In contrast, Hannah remained calm, her voice still soft.
“Yeah, I just want the money, nothing else. You love Eleanor anyway, don’t you?
“You shouldn’t mind divorcing me that much.
“Sign these papers, and you can marry Eleanor. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted?”
It was true. That was precisely what William had always wanted.
He would call out Eleanor’s name during our intimate moments for seven years of marriage.
If Eleanor hadn’t gone abroad back then, William would never have married me out of spite, pretending to be devoted.
Like a fool, I gave everything to this marriage, sacrificing my dignity along the
way.
When William developed stomach problems, I quit my job to become a housewife, learning to cook three meals a day to help his condition.
Because William loved purple, I decorated every corner of our

in that color, even changing my entire wardrobe to his favorite shade.
Even with all that, I still couldn’t measure up to Eleanor in his heart.
Eleanor won without having to lift a finger.
William let out a cold laugh, his eyes filled with mockery. “Hazel, weren’t you the one who always refused to divorce me? What changed your mind?”
Hannah looked straight into his eyes.
“You’re right. I didn’t want a divorce before. But now I see things differently. I’m done with all this love drama! I want to live on my terms!”
William muttered something about me being crazy.
Then, convinced I would regret it, he said, “Fine, let’s get divorced! But don’t come crying back to me later!”
“Don’t worry. I won’t regret this.”
He signed the divorce papers without hesitation.
He threw the pen on the floor and stormed out of the office without eating lunch.
