After I lost my memory, my family regretted it

Chapter 6
I fought back the urge to slap him across the face. “Let go of my
mom!”
Rylan sneered, “How sweet of you to call her that. Have you forgotten? You’re a child of the Evans family, not some housekeeper’s daughter.”
“Didn’t that housekeeper’s daughter live in your house too? What, are the almighty Evans family so greedy they need to steal
both children?”
I shot back defiantly.
Rylan seemed angry from embarrassment, making his men act even more recklessly.
Watching Nora’s hard work get destroyed and seeing her held down while crying, my eyes welled up with tears, and I started trembling uncontrollably.
“Rylan! What do you want from me?”
Rylan said, “First, come with me to the hospital. Sienna is threatening to jump off the building because you ran away.
“After we calm her down, you’ll return to the Evans family and be the proper young lady you’re meant to be. Isn’t that better?”

I glanced at Nora, who shook her head, silently begging me not
to agree.
But I couldn’t ignore the mess they’d made of everything.
Yesterday, we planned to save up and turn our little stand into a proper shop.
I guess I messed things up again.
She probably would have been better off without me, wouldn’t she?
I lowered my head, not daring to look at her as Rylan led me to the car.
We drove straight to the hospital where Sienna was staying.
She sat by the window as if she had been waiting for me.
I caught the mockery in her expression.
Her face seemed to say, “Not so tough now, are you? One little gesture from me, and you come running back.”
The Evans family’s accusations faded into a buzzing noise in my
ears.
No one noticed my hands clenched into fists, trembling beyond my control.
A passing doctor in a white coat suddenly pushed through them

and stood before me with a serious expression.
“Are you alright, young lady?”
I nodded, trying to keep my voice steady.

“I’m fine, thank you.”
But the doctor’s frown only deepened. “Are you her family?

“Her condition looks far more serious than your hospitalized patient. Why haven’t you brought her in for treatment?”
The Evans family members exchanged confused looks.
They thought, “What is going on? Is Claire sick, too?”
Before they could question the doctor further, Sienna started making a fuss on the other side, upset that attention had shifted away from her.
“Claire, didn’t you hate people with my condition? Why are you copying me?

“I never meant to take anything from you, I swear! Please, leave me alone!”
Seeing her beloved daughter teetering on the windowsill, Lyla instinctively slapped me across the face.

“Are you faking it again? Why are you doing this?
Chapter 6
“Can’t you see how much Sienna is suffering? Why can’t you accept her?”
She shook her head in disappointment as if I had ultimately disappointed her.
The voices around me started to fade away again.
The world began to buzz, and fragments of memories flashed through my mind.

I saw myself begging them when locked in the dark room, remembering how hard I tried to please them and all the times I had been scolded, abandoned, and forgotten.
The kind doctor tried to stop the Evans family from agitating me, but I had already walked quickly to the window and positioned myself in front of Sienna.
When I reached out, her confident mask crumbled, and she finally panicked. “What are you doing? Claire, are you crazy?”
Her voice cracked as she scrambled away from the window, clutching the curtains tightly, showing no real intention of ending her life.
The hospital room fell dead silent. The Evans family had been arguing with the doctor and insisting that I was faking. At the same time, Sienna was the real victim and stood frozen like they were being choked.
Their eyes widened as they watched me take Sienna’s place on

the windowsill.
I gave a small laugh.
“Someone who keeps threatening suicide but barely has any scars isn’t trying to die.”

Before anyone could react, I jumped, spreading my arms like a freed bird.
