“Your mother have been acting like mad people these days, blowing through my money. That twenty thousand dollars‘ already gone. Tell me straight, how much did your grandfather leave for your mother?”
I rubbed my cheek and secretly pressed the record button on my voice recorder.
Scared, I stammered, “I don’t know, but I know Mom was planning to buy a Porsche recently. It must have been a lot of money, right? Dad, please don’t be mad. If you can make Mom happy, she’ll definitely want to remarry you. Then, all of Grandpa’s money will be yours.”
When my dad heard “Porsche,” he froze.
He muttered to himself, “A Porsche… she must have millions of
dollars in her hands.”
Suddenly, he grabbed my shoulder and said, “Alisha, you want us to get back together, so you’ll have a real family, right? Well, here’s the deal. You give me the money, and I’ll go get your mom back. How does that sound?”
I pointed to the ragged clothes I’d been wearing for seven or eight
years.

As he spoke, he ogled me with a lewd, disgusting look.
I almost vomited. I couldn’t believe that my own father would offer me to old men in exchange for money!
I didn’t dare confront him directly but quickly found a few payday loan websites on my phone to show him.
Without a word, my dad immediately began applying for loans.
He was an old hand at this. He’d borrowed money before, and since the loan shark ring got busted, he managed to get away with it. This time, he was willing to take the risk, all because he was after the huge sum he thought my mom had.
Soon enough, I heard the notification that the money had been transferred.
As my dad was leaving, he wouldn’t give up. “Alisha, you only need to sacrifice one night, and you’ll get thousands of dollars.

with someone rich.”
As he said this, he tried to drag me toward the car.

I screamed in fear, “Dad! You already have money, why can’t you just leave me alone! Dad!”
My dad was tall and strong, and he pulled me effortlessly.
At that moment, I really feared for my life. I was terrified he might force me to sleep with those men. Luckily, a few neighbors came by, and my dad finally released me.
“Forget it for today. When you’re home, try talking some sense into your mom. She can’t keep spending money like this!”
He tossed out the last words and drove away.
Shaking and panting, I collapsed on the ground. Dealing with someone like my dad was like playing with fire.
But if I ever wanted peace again, I had to take the initiative.
