Over the next few days, I don’t know what my mom said, but my dad really did take out a loan to buy Wilbur a car.
Wilbur drove it around, showing it off to his friends at a class reunion.
On the way home, he accidentally crashed into a greenbelt and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The doctor said that if they wanted to save his legs, it would cost at least two hundred thousand dollars.
My dad refused to pay, insisting that my mom should cover the
cost.
“You bastard. How much money have you spent of mine these past few days? You made me buy this car, and just a few days after buying it, it’s already totaled! Now I have to pay two hundred thousand dollars to fix his leg. Where am I supposed to get that kind of money?”
My mom was so frantic that she slapped my dad across the face,
“Are you even human? This is your own son! You’ve got ten million dollars, and you won’t use it to save him? You’re worse than an animal!”
My dad was pissed too. He rushed forward and kicked my mom,

cursing loudly, “What ten million dollars? You think I’m a bank? I’m done! For the past few days, all I’ve gotten are debt collectors calling me nonstop. You’re outrageous! How much longer are you going to drag this out?”
Their argument escalated, and they started fighting right in front of the hospital.
Someone called the police. The officers came and gave them both a good talking–to, and finally, they calmed down.
My mom was crying as she yelled at my dad, “You heartless bastard! You stole Alisha’s ten million dollars, and now you’re pretending to be broke! No matter what, you better cough up the money for his medical bills!”
Finally, my dad seemed to realize what was happening.
He grabbed my mom by the neck and demanded, “What ten million dollars? Explain yourself!”
Through her sobs, my mom told him everything about how I had won the lottery, only for my dad to take the card from me.
My dad, furious, started yelling at my mom, “What the hell did your dad leave you when he died? Just tell me straight! You’ve spent so much of my money already. Don’t think you can fool me!”
“What did my dad leave? I don’t know what you’re talking about!” My mom was crying uncontrollably.

At that moment, the debt collectors found out that my dad was at the hospital, and they grabbed him.
They dragged him into the hospital alley, beating him mercilessly.
My mom ran over and realized that everything my dad had said was true. She realized that all those designer bags, the jewelry, and Wilbur’s car that my dad had bought recently were actually purchased through online loans.
After taking a beating, my dad dragged my mom into the mess.
“It’s all this woman’s fault. She’s my wife. She has money. Take it from her!”
The debt collectors immediately turned their attention to my mom.
They beat her black and blue, dragged her home, and took all the bags and jewelry she had.
But even that wasn’t enough to cover the loans. They still owed a lot of money.
The hospital kept pressing for the surgery fees, threatening to amputate Wilbur’s leg if they didn’t pay.
That was when my parents finally realized that everything was my doing.
“That damn girl, she wanted to keep the money for herself! We

My mom was on the verge of going insane from the pressure of the debt collectors. She realized it was all my fault that Wilbur was in this condition, and, along with my dad, they rushed to the apartment I was staying at.
