Chapter 8
My gaze remained indifferent as if he were still a stranger to me.
“Mr. Reed, that’s enough. Stop harassing me. I only have one boyfriend, and that is Raleigh. I love him very much and want no one else but him,” I advised softly.
Justin’s eyes turned bloodshot with anger, and he raised his hand as if to hit me.
Perhaps out of fear of my parents, he withdrew his hand, gave Raleigh a fierce glare, then turned and drove towards the hospital.
As soon as he left, I immediately turned to Raleigh, touched his neck with concern, and asked, “Did that madman hurt you just now?”
The cool touch made Raleigh pause for a moment, ripples appearing in the depths of his eyes, but it was only for an instant.
“I have work to do at the company. I have to go.
After uttering these words, he quickly said farewell to my parents and dashed away so quickly that he disappeared from view in an instant.
I watched his flustered figure and chuckled lightly.
Did Raleigh’s ears turn red just now?
Three days later.
I couldn’t stay at home any longer. After dressing up, I took my resume and bag and went to Landon Group.
The manager of the HR department glanced at my resume, hurriedly went to find Raleigh, and said excitedly, “Mr. Landon, the architect Stella Wright, whom we have always wanted to recruit, has approached us. Should we offer her a high salary to hire her?”
“Where is she?” Raleigh suddenly stood
“In the lounge.” The HR manager smiled.

As soon as these words were spoken, Raleigh, who had just been standing there, ran off without a trace, and the HR manager followed, only to find the usually composed and cool president–standing at the door, hesitant to enter.
“Give her whatever salary she asks for; we must recruit her,” Raleigh instructed.
The HR manager nodded.
A few minutes later, the HR manager ran to Raleigh’s office to report their success.
“Mr. Landon, we’ve successfully recruited her, and she didn’t ask for any specific salary. It

seems like the job ad I posted did the trick, pulling in such a talented individual,”
Raleigh glanced at her lightly and reminded, “She came because of me.”
The HR manager was confused by his response,
After joining Landon Group, I worked diligently and solved several major problems for the company, even attending a dinner hosted by a foreign tycoon with Raleigh.
Not long after I arrived, I spotted Justin. He was wearing a brown suit, accompanied by a tall and beautiful girl, whom everyone praised as his wonderful girlfriend. And that girlfriend was none other than Jasmine.
Standing on the lawn, I watched Justin, with Jasmine by his side, mingling with the crowd. He held a glass of wine, tapping lightly against its rim.
He stood in the center of the crowd, speaking loudly and confidently, exuding arrogance and elegance.
Perhaps he noticed my gaze because his eyes swept over to me. Upon seeing me, his expression suddenly became flustered. He quickly released Jasmine’s waist and hurried towards me.
I averted my gaze, expressionless, and took a sip of the red wine, feeling its slight bitterness.
“Stella, what are you doing here? I don’t recall seeing your name on the guest list. Justin hurriedly explained, glancing back at Jasmine repeatedly. As her expression changed, his own grew increasingly panicked.
I turned away without responding.

“I couldn’t find you, so I invited Jasmine to the dinner. Please don’t misunderstand,” Justin continued to explain, but as he spoke, Jasmine approached.
“Miss Stella, you mustn’t misunderstand the relationship between me and Justin. We’re just ordinary friends,” Jasmine said softly, extremely considerate, as she helped Justin clarify.
Justin’s gaze towards her carried a hint of appreciation.
