Chapter 9
Katrina and Nobert exchanged a terrified glance.
“What nonsense are you talking about?” Nobert’s usually composed face twisted with anger. After a moment, he softened his tone, trying to placate me. “Honey, you’re not having another episode, are you?”
Katrina quickly chimed in, “That’s it for today! She needs to go rest!”
I gave them a sneer and raised an eyebrow toward the large screen behind them. “The show is just getting started.”
They turned around, only to see a video playing on the screen. It was footage from my bedroom the night before, showing Katrina threatening me and the two of them in bed together…
Reporters quickly grabbed their cameras, snapping photos. Katrina’s face turned ghostly pale as she stood up, trying to block the screen, hysterically shouting, “Stop filming! Stop! Security! Turn it off!”
Nobert, clearly terrified, dropped to the ground, staring at me in shock. “You… you…”
“My son has been under my protection for a long time. You didn’t even find him, did you?”
I walked off the stage, satisfied, and immediately called the police.
Soon, their affair spread across the internet, and along with it, my company made its way to the top of the trending list. I saved a ton on PR expenses and gained a lot of positive attention for my image.

The only regret was that Nobert wasn’t in the video footage, and since Katrina was the one demanding the shares, he wasn’t locked up for long.
He was smart, though. All the criminal activities were under Katrina’s name. She thought that by taking him away from me, she’d be living a good life with him.
But she was just a pawn in his game. After Nobert got out of jail, he completely distanced himself from her and even sent me a message, saying that Katrina was dirtier than a prostitute.
Of course, I made sure to share this truth with her.
Through the glass window, Katrina picked up the phone. “Hailey, you filthy bitch! You’re not the winner. When Nobert gets out of prison, he’ll come for me!”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “He’s already out. And he’s cut all ties with you. He even said… well, you can see for yourself.”
I showed Katrina the message Nobert had sent me.
Her eyes widened in disbelief. Her pale lips trembled as she shook her head in a daze. “No… no way…”
As I turned to leave, she lunged toward the glass, screaming, “Hailey, you bitch! You’re trying to steal Nobert back, aren’t you?”
I laughed at her foolishness. Why would I want that scumbag back?
But Nobert was relentless.

forgiveness every single day.
[Honey, I was wrong. What do I need to do to make you see me?]

[What’s between Katrina and is just a game. I made a mistake every man makes.”
[Let’s get back together. Our son can’t grow up without a father.]
[Your company can’t survive without me. You can’t manage it on your own.]
That last one was the funniest. He probably forgot that without me and my family, he’d still be a security guard.
Maybe that was the real reason he chose me in the first place.
When I blocked him, he just switched to another number.
The guy was definitely a creep.
When I ignored him, he started threatening me.
He claimed that internet users were gullible and would believe anything. He was convinced that they’d force me to come back.
And true to his nature, Nobert made sure we both landed on the trending list once again.
