“I don’t need you to acknowledge me. I’ll
leave on my own. The Millers? My biological
parents? I don’t need any of it!”
Under everyone’s shocked gazes, I walked to
the center of the stage.
“Don’t worry, I’m leaving. But before I go, I
have a parting gift.”
Bang!
The beautifully decorated venue, meant for
my celebration, became a chaotic mess.
Then, I walked out, leaving the Miller family
behind.
I didn’t go back to school. I figured Ashley
was planning her next move, just like last
time.
Humiliating me at the party wasn’t enough.
She’d also arranged for some thugs to jump
me after I left the Millers.
Well, if she wanted to give me a gift, it was
only polite to return the favor.
I went to the same spot where the attack had
happened in my past life. Fighting down my
fear, I saw Ashley waiting in the distance.
I crept up behind her and knocked her
unconscious with a single blow.
Thanks to her, she’d picked the perfect spot.
The security cameras were out, and there was
no one around. It made my job much easier.
I dragged Ashley to the alley where the thugs
had attacked me in my past life and hid.
Sure enough, the thugs appeared. Seeing
Ashley lying there, they knew what to do.
“That Miller girl wasn’t kidding. This little lady
く
is a real looker. We’ll take turns. Get to have
some fun and get paid for it. Sweet deal.”
Fighting back nausea, I filmed the disgusting
scene. I didn’t need much, just enough to get
clear footage of Ashley’s face.
This was how Ashley had framed me in my
past life. I’d had a bright future ahead of me.
Then, returning to my biological family had
ruined everything.
After finishing the job, I returned to my dorm.
My friend Chloe was there. She was startled
to see me.
“What happened, Liv? I thought you went
home to be a rich girl. Did someone mess
with you?”
My expression must have given me away.
Chloe thought I’d been bullied. It felt strange
that someone still cared.
“Just…hug me,” I whispered.
The next day, the two roommates who had
<
lied about me returned. I discreetly started
recording.
“Looks like Ashley paid you well. Enough to
tell such outrageous lies.”
Sarah and Nina avoided my gaze. Guilt made
it hard to meet my eyes.
“Denials are pointless. You couldn’t afford the
brands you’re wearing even if you sold
yourselves. And thanks to you, I’m out of the
Miller family.”
Figuring they had nothing left to lose, they
confessed.
“We admit it. We’re sorry, Olivia. Ashley paid
us to lie about you, to get you kicked out. But
she gave us $50,000! We’ve never seen that
much money. So don’t blame us.”
I didn’t blame them. $50,000 was a huge
temptation for college students. But they
didn’t realize their simple lies could ruin
someone’s life.
く
If I hadn’t been reborn, I would have suffered
the same fate again.
I couldn’t help but slap them both.
“Are you crazy? No wonder the Millers don’t
like you! You have no class!” Sarah yelled.
I laughed, genuinely amused.
“You two took money to slander me. Do you
know what that’s called? Because of your lies,
I’m being judged by everyone. You got to
enjoy your money, but did you ever think
about the consequences for me?”
My outburst intimidated them. They clutched
their new purchases, unsure what to do.
“Don’t scare us! Ashley came to us! It’s not
our fault! If you have a problem, go to her!”
They fled, leaving their shopping bags behind.
I saved all the evidence, knowing it would be
useful soon.
I messaged my professor, explaining
everything. I was prepared to give up my spot
く
in the study abroad program, but she pulled
some strings and saved it for me.
“Thank you, Professor.”
“Silly girl, I know what kind of person you are.
Don’t let me down. I’m staking my reputation
on you.”
I was shocked. I hadn’t realized she cared
enough to risk so much. If anything happened
to me, she would be my greatest ally. I
couldn’t afford to get caught up in any more
drama.
As expected, Ashley contacted me three days
later.
“It was you, wasn’t it? How dare you do that
to me! You’re dead! I’ll make your life a living
hell!”
I could picture her enraged expression, but I
didn’t care if she hated me.
“What are you talking about, Ashley? Didn’t
you arrange for those men yourself? I just
helped you play your part.”
I could practically see her face contorting in
disbelief.
“How did you know?” she demanded.
Because you did the same thing to me in my
past life. I didn’t say it aloud.
“Oh, Ashley, I have a gift for you. Care to
open it?”
Ashley received a video and an audio
recording. After listening, she exploded.
“You bitch! Delete it! Delete it now!”
“Haha, are you delusional? Why would I delete
it?”
“What do you want?”
