I stood up without hesitation, not wanting to get further entangled with Yana, but she knelt before me.
“Yvonne, I beg you, you can’t ruin him.”
How was it that my fair competition was considered ruining him?
I had seen shameless people before, but never anyone quite like her. I bent down and looked at her.
“Yana, if you can’t bear to see him fail, why don’t you use your family’s money to support him? The Bridgeton family may not be as wealthy as ours, but it should be more than enough to secure this project, right?”
With that, I walked away, unwilling to waste more time with an idiot.
For the next several days, I busy myself with the project and did not pay any attention to them. When I finally came to my senses, I realized I had not seen Andrew in quite some
time.
Without much thought, I grabbed a car from the garage and drove to his house.
There was no one in the living room, but I heard the sound of pages turning in the study. When I opened the door, I saw Andrew hunched over, flipping through something.
Seeing me,
he immediately stood up with excitement.
“Yvonne, I’ve prepared a surprise for you.”
I walked over, and he handed me a contract. One glance was all it took to realize it was for the project I had been working on.
“You are in charge of the project?” I asked.
Andrew nodded. “Yes, my dad gave it to me as practice.”
I casually flipped through the pages and saw my family’s company name already written in, just waiting for my signature. With it, the project would be mine.
“Are you crazy? This is…”
“A project worth billions. I know.” Andrew smiled.
“Yvonne, you want it, and I have it, Isn’t it natural for me to give it to you?”
I could not help but feel touched.
“So, how should I repay you?” I asked.

Andrew took my hand. “Anything will do.”
“Okay.”
When we left the Council Office, Andrew was still brimming with excitement. Holding my hand, he insisted we go celebrate.
What I did not expect was how quickly Hendrix found out. Barely had we arrived at the restaurant when he showed up.
Seeing the marriage certificates in our hands, Hendrix’s face turned ashen.
“Yvonne, how could you…”
I gestured for Andrew to enter first.
“If you’re sick, go see a doctor.”
However, Hendrix suddenly grabbed my hand, pain flickering in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Yvonne. I know I was wrong

I sneered and asked coldly, “Regret what? Regret not saving me, or regret dragging me with you in our past life?”
Hendrix’s grip on my hand loosened instantly, and the color drained from his face. It seemed he knew he was wrong in
ur past life too.
I was about to walk past him into the restaurant when Hendrix suddenly knelt before me. In front of everyone passing by the restaurant’s entrance, he began slapping himself.
“Yvonne, I was wrong. I know I was wrong. Please, forgive me.”
I stayed silent.
“Is that even possible?”
However, then Hendrix’s face lit up as if something had just occurred to him.
“Yvonne, it’s because of Yana, isn’t it? You’re not forgiving me because of her. Trust me, I’ll give you a satisfactory answer.”
I looked at him in shock, unable to believe those words came from his mouth. At that moment, Andrew came out from the restaurant, and I quickly followed him inside.
My dad, upon hearing I had secured the project handed over the company to me. Casually, I mentioned that Andrew and I had gotten married, but my parents did not ask much about it. They simply said it was my choice.
Not long after, I heard through a friend that the Zuckerman family was on the verge of

bankruptcy.
The Zuckerman family had been short on funds, and with the Lewis family pulling out their investments, things became even harder for them. They had bet everything on securing that project, but with the project in my hands, their entire funding chain collapsed, and the company soon declared bankruptcy.
What I did not expect was that just as the Zuckerman family was nearing bankruptcy, Yana fled abroad with all of their money, severing Hendrix’s last hope.
By the time I heard this news, the Lewis family’s business had already reached new heights under my leadership.
I thought I would never hear about Hendrix again, but to my surprise, the next time his name came up, it was on a crime show.
Resentful of Yana for destroying him, he had gone to great lengths to track her down and stabbed her repeatedly in the heart.
Her screams were so loud that a nearby neighbor called the police. Before he could even leave the room, the police had him pinned to the ground.
I watched the news, unsurprised, as I lay in Andrew’s arms, holding our new puppy.
I said softly to the dog, “Patrick, if you’re reincarnated as a human, don’t be like that guy. Don’t push all the blame onto others and think you’re the most innocent one. In truth, he was the most malicious one of all.”
