Chapter 12
Sébastien gazed at Liam, at a loss for words.
Not only did the young boy bear a striking resemblance to him, but he also exuded the same attitude as him.
Tm sorry, Mr. Williams.” A woman in her forties approached Sébastien and apologized for Liam’s rude behavior towards him.
The woman was also worried that Sébastien would take offense to Liam’s words, as she was his class teacher, she needed to defend him. So, she took it upon herself to apologize on his behalf.
“He’s a new student here with his twin sister. You know how children can be sometimes. Please don’t take his words to heart.” The teacher continued to apologize.
Sebastien did not even bother looking at her, his deep blue eyes locked in a staring match with Liam’s identical ones.
After a tense moment, Sebastien finally relented and backed down.
Letting out a sigh, he turned his attention back to the teacher and spoke curtly, “It’s fine, I understand.”
With that, he put little Precious down and crouched down to her level, a warm smile gracing his handsome face
“So, Precious Uncle has to go to work now. Promise to be good and listen to your teachers, okay?” Sébastien said, giving her a gentle pat on her tied hair.
The liule girl nodded eagerly, a grin of understanding on her innocent face. “Okay, Uncle! My Mommy also said the same thing to me. You and Mommy think alike!” She exclaimed, igniting a raise of an eyebrow from Sébastien. He couldn’t help but wonder who the mother of these adorable twins could be.
Based on Liam’s earlier words, Sébastien had a rough idea of the family dynamics of the twins.
It seemed that their father had abandoned their mother, leaving her to raise them on her own.
Thinking about this, Sébastien cursed the twins‘ father inwardly for being an unreliable parent. What kind of scumbag would leave a pregnant woman to fend for herself?
“Come on, kids! It’s time to go inside!” A teacher’s shout snapped Sébastien back to reality.
He took Precious’s hand and walked over to where Liam and Noah were standing.
“Come on! It’s time to go inside. Have a splendid day at school, my buddy” Sébastien announced, ruffling Noah’s hair and eliciting a joyous grin from the little boy.
Today appeared to be auspicious for young Noah, as he not only accompanied by his father to school, but also made two new friends. Not to mention the striking resemblance between his new friend Liam and his father, Sébastien. Noah was truly

Sébastien attempted to pat Liam’s head, but the little one deftly evaded his touch, causing his hand to hover awkwardly in the
air.
Precious stifled a laugh and remarked to Sébastien, “Dear Uncle, you may not be aware, but Liam detests having his hair touched by anyone. Not even his our mommy. He wakes up early every morning and spends an absurd amount of time. styling his hair, despite its ultimate disheveled appearance. Precious concluded with a snicker, amusing Sébastien and some nearby teachers.
Liam blushed upon hearing his sister’s words.
In a flustered state, he grabbed both Precious and Noah’s hands and hastily made his way inside, avoiding eye contact with anyone. He felt utterly mortified and practically dragged the two youngsters away as quickly as his feet could carry them.
Sébastien maintained his pleasant expression as he observed the trio enter the classroom. In that moment, he felt an inexplicable surge of joy in his heart.
After ensuring the three children had disappeared from view, he left the school gates and entered his car

Upon checking the time, he let out a curse upon realizing how late he was.
It was supposed to be their new lawyer’s first day at the office, and he had intended to arrive on time. However, it seemed that he would inevitably be tardy
As he drove to the company, another pressing matter crossed his mind and he promptly called his secretary, connecting the call through Bluetooth
On the first ring, his secretary answered with a polite greeting
“Good morning, Boss!” Mark exclaimed from his end.
“Mark, I asked you with uncovering the identity of the twins we encountered at the airport yesterday. Why haven’t I received any updates from you! Are you becoming complacent?” Sébastien inquired with a frostiness that sent shivers down Mark’s
spine.
His icy and detached demeanor was a stark contrast to the way he looked at his son, Precious, and Liam. It seemed that in his otherwise miserable existence, only his son and those twins could evoke a different emotion in him.
“Boss, I sent the information I could acquire to your email yesterday. I guess you haven’t checked it yet
T
Also… Um… actually, Boss, I couldn’t find any information about them. It appears that their guardian has wiped their existence clean. I believe they don’t want anyone to know about them or to investigate them: Mark replied politely on the phone.
“What do you mean? What about the airport? Did you inquire with them? They must have some information.” Sébastien furrowed his brow. How could there be no trace of them!
“I did, Boss! But it seems they were also bound by certain restrictions. Or perhaps the person behind those children is more powerful than we can fathom
I tried everything with them, but they refused to provide any assistance regarding those two children. Mark elaborated.
When the airport refused to give him the necessary details, despite mentioning the Williams family, Mark knew that those two kids were not ordinary.
Sébastien didn’t say anything and simply hung up the call. It wasn’t as though he was desperate to uncover the identities of Liam and Precious.
He was merely taken aback by the resemblance between Liam and himself, and between Precious and his ex–wife, which made him curious about their parents.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Sébastien drove straight to his company.
Normally, he had a team of drivers to take him to the office, but due to his anger towards Ariana and the rest of his family, he chose to drive himself today.
Soon enough, he arrived at his company and parked his car in the underground parking garage, before using the exclusive elevator to reach the first floor.
Upon entering. Sébastien was met with a tumultuous scene; his receptionist reprimanding a woman adorned in professional attire. Other employees had gathered, as if watching a spectacle.
The woman had her back to him, concealing her facial expression, but her confrontation with the rude receptionist was evident.
Just as she was about to speak, footsteps signified the arrival of newcomers. Sebastien peered briefly to identify them unsurprisingly, it was his family.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Sasha thundered as she joined her son’s side, her face contorted with anger.
Ignoring their presence, Sébastien fixated his gaze on the woman with her back still turned. The receptionist brightened upon seeing her employers and rushed over to explain.
“Good morning. Madam! Good morning, Boss! Allow me to explain. This woman here came looking for you
Boss, but since you weren’t around, she was told to return later.

However, she insisted on meeting with you today or else our company would face consequences. As a loyal employee, I couldn’t allow anyone to tarnish our reputation, so I asked security to remove her from the premises.
Even then, she persisted, saying that she was going to give us one last chance. I was just about to respond when you arrived,” the receptionist spoke, oozing with feigned respect.
But of course, she didn’t divulge the complete truth, twisting the events to manipulate their perception and incite the wrath of
the Chairwoman.
As expected. Sasha seethed with fury after hearing the receptionist’s account. Her cold gaze shifted to the still–unseen woman,
“You there! Leave my company immediately, or I will have you arrested. Since when did we allow anyone to enter here as they please?” Sasha’s voice boomed with authority.
Gwen, standing alongside her mother, seethed with fury. She loathed the idea of someone thinking of themselves as superior to her and her family.
“Didn’t you hear my mother? LEAVE!!!” She practically shricked.
As the woman slowly but purposefully turned to face the Williams family, Sasha, Gwen, and Ariana gasped in shock, almost stumbling to the ground.
Sébastien’s eyes widened, as if they were about to pop out of their sockets, Was he seeing correctly? The woman she’s… she’s Serenity.
“You- you you.” Sasha tried to speak, but felt a lump in her throat, silencing her.
Serenity walked gracefully towards them, stopping only a few inches away.
Her face was blank, devoid of all emotion. Not even a hint of anger could be seen. It was as if she was meeting strangers for the first time.
She folded her arms across her chest and addressed Sébastien with a stoic expression. “Mr. Williams, today was supposed to be our first meeting, but you were late. Not only that, but your receptionist treated me poorly and insulted me
On top of that, your mother and sister want to drive me out of your company. Is this how you run your business? Let’s not forget, your company BEGGED me to become your lawyer. And now, this is how you treat me? I suppose I will have to cancel our collaboration. Have a pleasant day” With that, she turned to leave but halted in her track by a piercing cry from Gwen
Serenity paused and looked at her coldly. She didn’t even bother to respond, she simply raised an eyebrow, signaling for her to speak
“You- you said our company begged you to be our lawyer… Gwen gulped and continued, her voice trembling
“Does that mean you are
“I am Serene Morgan, the lawyer your company chose to assist you with your current situation. But I suppose I won’t be anymore. Enjoy your day!”
Oh goodness, how she despised the Williams family. If not for her dedication to her work, she wouldn’t have bothered coming here in the first place.
Just as she was about to make her hasty exit, a firm, yet gentle hand took hold of hers, causing her to freeze in place and her eyes to widen
Without needing to turn around, she knew who was gripping her hand. It was him… the man she wished to loathe for all eternity.
“Serenity, Sébastien murmured, his voice soft but still causing her body to tense up even more.
What does he want now?
