Upon hearing that voice, all heads turned towards the entrance to catch sight of Old Madam Williams and her son, Harris Williams, striding in with livid expressions.
*Seb! Have you gone mad? Did you intend to lay your hands on your own mother and sister? What the hell has gotten into you?!” Harris bellowed angrily as he hurriedly went to his wife and daughter’s side.
He glared at his son with intense fury for such a rash action. Who knows what he would have done if he and his mother hadn’t intervened in time.
He knew his son had changed since his hasty divorce with his ex–wife, but this was crossing the line. He could be cold and hostile towards others, but not towards his own mother and sister. They were his own blood!
Harris knew his wife and daughter could be a bit overboard, but he couldn’t just allow his son to do something he might regret later.

“Seb! My child! What prompted you to make such an impulsive move against your mother and sister in front of all our employees: This is not like you” Old Madam Williams asked with her frail yet resolute voice.
Before Sébastien could even respond, Sasha erupted into crocodile tears and pointed an accusatory finger at Serenity….

“This despicable woman has returned to US. She whore like her shouldn’t–
“MOTHER!!!” Sasha’s insults towards Serenity were cut off as Sébastien let out a furious roar, causing everyone to flinch in terror. Some of the employees even hid in fear.
The only thing that held him back was the fact that she was his mother. If it weren’t for that…
He turned his cold gaze to his father and grandmother and asked… “Did you know? Did you all know about the harsh maltreatment they gave Serenity? I know I wasn’t a good husband to her, however, I would never lay my hands in her and never thought my family will do such harm to her.
I admit I was neutral to all you verbal abuse towards her in the past because I didn’t realize my feelings for her back then. But to think that you would stoop so low to her hurt her in my absence… How dare your Sébastien roared again, his anger flaring up the more he spoke.
Ariana clenched her fist when she heard Sébastien’s statement. [I didn’t realize my feelings for her back then]
What does he mean by that? Is he having feelings for her now? Ariana started plotting in her mind how to get rid of Serenity as soon as possible..
Harris in the other hand was confused by his son sudden behavior. What in the world was he missing?
Old Madam Williams and Harris turned their gazes to where Sébastien was pointing, only to be shocked.
Were they seeing correctly? Was that really Se–Serenity? What on earth is going on? How is she back in the country? And also in their company? The Heck!
Serenity, on the other hand, stood there with an impatient expression. She was itching to leave out of irritation. But she needed to cancel her contract with Sébastien before she could go. If it weren’t for the scolding she would receive from her supervisor, she would have thrown all caution to the wind and left already. Who cares about Sébastien’s stupid speech or his hypocritical family?
In her peripheral vision, Serenity caught sight of Old Madam Williams drawing nearer with a forlorn countenance. She raised an eyebrow, wanting to see what the old woman wanted.
Upon reaching her side, the older woman let go of her walking stick and lifted her trembling hand towards Serenity’s face.
But Serenity deftly sidestepped her touch, determined to avoid any physical contact. Can you blame her? After all, the pain of betrayal still lingers from the past.

Frozen in place, Old Madam Wilson stood with her hand suspended midair, tears streaming down her face out of regret and
remorse.
“My dear, do you hate me for what happened back then? I am sorry, truly. Will you forgive this old woman?” Mrs. Williams implored, shocking those around them.
It seemed like there would be no work done by the employees today, aside from the shock and fear of witnessing this exchange.
“Mom! Why are you apologizing to that harlot?” Sasha couldn’t contain her disdain and blurted out.
“Be quiet Sasha!” Now it was Harris‘ turn to reprimand his wife. As days went, he was regretting his decision of marrying such a
woman
In fact, he too was taken aback by the sight of Serenity after all these years. He couldn’t help but wonder why she was in their company in the first place.
Sasha could only glare at Serenity with seething hatred, unable to do anything else in the face of her husband’s sudden rebuke.
“Serenity, what brings you here?” Harris couldn’t help but asked, not in anger but with genuine curiosity.
“Mr. Williams, I would prefer it if you addressed me as Miss Morgan! I am Serene Morgan, not Serenity.
And I was tasked with assisting you with your current legal battle. Yet, not only was I scolded by a mere receptionist, even your own family attempted to harm me.
Let me ask you this, when will the Williams family stop looking down their noses at others? What makes you think you are so special and deserving of respect or above others? What else do you have except for your surnames? Ha! To me, there is family more hypocritical than yours.
If you have no intention of working with me, I kindly ask for the contract to be terminated. And do not worry about compensation, I will take care of the penalty as I am the one terminating the contract. In fact, I will even double it ten times for your troubles.”
In a cold and distant manner, Serenity met Sébastien’s gaze. For a brief moment, they locked eyes and everything else seemed to fade away
Looking into each other’s eyes, many pleasant and unpleasant memories flooded their minds.
Serenity remembered Sébastien’s distant and cold demeanor as Sébastien remember Serenity’s sweet and cheerful side from the past.
Did he really lost her for good? Why was he so blind to his own feelings back then?
Serenity quickly averting her gaze, she refused to meet his eyes for long.
The feelings those eyes stirred inside her makes her wanna puke.
“Mr. Williams, I believe our collaboration are no longer compatible. Once our contract is terminated, I will transfer the penalty fee to your account,” Serenity stated casually, keeping her emotions in check in front of Sébastien.
With that, she turned to leave the place which was causing her discomfort.
Suddenly, a strong hand wrapped around her waist as she took a few steps.
Gasps and shock murmurs was heard, making Serenity irritated. Was Sébastien going crazy? Why would he hug her all of a sudden?
Pressed against a hard and warm chest, Serenity knew exactly who it was without looking.
How could she forget his intoxicating scent, a constant reminder of their past.
“SÉBASTIEN!” Ariana exclaimed at the sight of her fiancé being intimate with his ex–wife.
“Seb! Have you lost your mind?” Sasha screeched, ready to push her son away from Serenity.

But Harris, anticipating the situation, held her back, not wanting her to interfere.
Shaken from her trance, Serenity struggled to free herself from Sébastien’s grip, but it proved to be difficult even after several attempts.
“Let go of me, Mr. Williams! How could you be so shameless in front of all these people?” Serenity yelled, her anger bubbling
to the surface.
She desperately wanted to escape his grasp. His scent and warmth were triggering memories she wanted to forget.
Tve missed you, wifey, Sébastien whispered in her car, leaving her in shock. For a moment, she stopped struggling, her eyes going wide in disbelief.
His wife? Did he just call her that?
Serenity felt a sting in her eyes and a pang of pain in her heart at the absurdity of the situation. When she craved to hear that word from him, he looked at her with disdain. And now, when she didn’t want to hear it, he said it so freely. Did he think she was a fool?
Before she could respond, a loud voice erupted from the entrance.
“SERENE! WIFEY!!”
An imposing and attractive man abruptly stormed into the room, abruptly yanking Serenity out of Sébastien’s grasp and into
his own
“Alex? What brings you here?” Serenity murmured, muffled against his chest.
“I came to rescue you from those scavengers: Alex whispered in response.
“Scavengers? What scavengers Serenity inquired bewilderedly.
What was this crazy man up to again!
