“What do you mean by those gazes?” Alex asked, confused.
Even Serenity looked at him as if he were a fool.
“You are not the only smart person here,” Sébastien remarked, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “And it’s not cool to state the obvious.”
Alex simply rolled his eyes and remained silent. It was true that everyone else in the room was most likely aware of what Sébastien had just pointed out.
But the question that plagued everyone’s mind was, “Who could it possibly be?”
Who could have such malicious intentions to harm innocent people and bring MPK down? W Then which one of them?
it one of their business rivals?
“What about the police? Have they found anything?” Serenity inquired, her eyes darting around for an answer.
Harris was the one to respond this time. “Yes, we informed them when the incident occurred two weeks ago. They conducted an investigation, but after a week, they came up with nothing. He answered with some politeness. After all, the woman in front of him was no longer his daughter in law but the person who could potentially save their company.
“What about the CCTV cameras? Did they capture anything? Alex interjected, but his question was met with shaking heads from everyone at the table, indicating that nothing was found.
Serenity made notes from time to time in her notepad, understanding the lack of evidence. Indeed, this was going to be a bigger fight to tackle in court without any evidence or whatsoever.
Meanwhile, Sasha and Ariana sat in silence, glaring at Serenity as if she owed tjem some money. If looks could kill, Serenity would have been dead by now.
“Could someone take me to where the products are stored? I want to see the production base. Serenity requested, looking around the table and the faces of the board members.
A hush fell over the room at her request.
“Is no one willing to take me there? I just want to see for myself what went wrong or how things are being handled there. Who knows, there might be some evidence that was overlooked by the police. Can no one fulfill this simple request?” Serenity said with a frown.
Why were there behaving like fools who doesn’t know their current predicament?
“Why is no one paying attention to my request. Mind you all, I didn’t come here to play. I came here to work so I expect your corporation fully.” Serenity stated in a professional tone, showing a bit of anger when no one listened to her request.
Suddenly, a voice that had been silent up until now, since Alex entered the company, spoke up in a cold tone. Gwen glared at Serenity before saying. “Do you think you are superior to everyone here?
And mind you, the incident happened two weeks ago, so I doubt any evidence remains. My brother and his team combed through the entire place but found nothing. Who are you to demand an investigation? You are merely a lawyer, not a police officer, so do not hold yourself in such high regard.” Gwen said sneered at Serenity,
The room fell silent again, no one knowing what to say to salvage the situation.
Serenity just looked at Gwen as if she was a fool or a just an immature kid who didn’t know anything.
After sneering coldly at her, Serenity retorted coldly…
“Miss Williams, the fact that you are ignorant enough to not assist your brother with the investigation does not mean everyone is like you, lacking in manners and business sense. Please, if you think you are of no use here, leave this room immediately. 1 have no interest in entertaining your childish outbursts.” The tone was sophisticated, but the words were scathing.
Serenity was starting to feel irritated by the Williams family. Why did they always look down on others? Why did they think they were above everyone? Was it because of their wealth? Their accumulated prestige over the years!

But they must not forget that there were people before them, and there are still many others in different countries who might be wealthier.
Ignoring Gwen and her annoying remarks, Serenity thought, “I need to speak to Sebastian directly.”
As she turned to face Sebastian and asked him to take her to the warehouse, Ariana spoke up suddenly.
“I can you take to the warehouse.” Everyone in the room turned to look at Ariana, wondering if she had gone mad. After all, she was Serenity’s rival. And also the reason behind her divorce. Who would be fooled to follow her?
It was not enough for her to steal her husband away, she also fabricated lies against her, and now she’s bringing her to the warehouse where the products are kept? What evil plan is she concocting?
Alex couldn’t hold back but sneered in disdain. “So, I am expected to stay silent and just smile while this happens? This deception is just too much.
And Miss Blake, don’t think for a second that I have forgotten about the time you pushed yourself down the stairs six years
and was told you may never walk again. You framed an innocent person for your selfish reason. Now, now, why the sudden change of heart? Are you not afraid that Serene will push you again when no one is around?” Alex’s voice resounded, catching everyone’s attention.
Ariana opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. The truth was, she had planned to take Serenity to the warehouse where the products were kept and stage an accidental death by pushing a box onto her. It would be so much better if she just died there.
Serenity turned to address Sebastian, “Mr. Williams, if it’s not too much to ask, could you please take me to the warehouse? I need to see what happened and talk to the workers down there. Maybe someone on the inside knows something. She added, thinking back to how their supposed enemy found out about their delivery plans. Clearly, someone within the company was leaking information.
“As the lawyer of this company, I have every right to be suspicious of everyone. I need to go down there and talk to them. And if it’s too much trouble for you, can I borrow your secretary instead?” She completed.
But before she could finish her request, Sebastian had already stood up and taken her hand. “I’ll take you there myself.”
Many murmurs were heard, filling the room with an awkward tension. Even the board members turned to watch, surprised by this unexpected interaction.
Serenity could feel her heart racing, unsure of what was going on. It appeared that Sebastian was determined to make her life miserable at the company.
As she tried to pull her hand away, he only held on tighter, leaning in close to whisper in her ear.
“Don’t resist, wifey,” he whispered, before looking at her shock face, “Is it too much to ask?” he asked with a slight smile.
Alex looked coldly at Sebastian, his eyes practically killing him. Beside them, Serenity also glared at Sebastian before firmly declaring. “Mr. Williams, I can take care of myself. Just lead the way.”
Ignoring her words, Sebastian started walking with her trailing behind him, their hands tightly clasped.
Serenity continued to fight, trying to free her hand from his grasp, but he held on tightly, as if she were his lifeline.
They soon reached the warehouse where all the products were kept and manufactured. “We’re here,” Sebastian announced to Serenity and Alex.
As he turned his back, he caught sight of his family father, mother, sister, and Ariana. Ignoring them, he pretended not to see them. To him, they were no longer his family, as they had done a lot to ruin his life and his marriage with Serenity. He knew he was at fault too, but they were culprits too,
But this time, with Serenity back, he wasn’t going to let anyone come between them, especially not his family. “So, here we are,” he said, addressing Serenity. “What do you have to say, Mrs. Lawyer, Serene Morgan?” he added sarcastically, hoping to provoke a reaction from her.
But Serenity simply saw her as an immature child and ignored her, focusing instead on the people working in front of them. “Do you want me to show you around?” Sebastian offered.

Serenity raised her head and looked at him. He flashed her a smile that almost took her breath away.
Quickly, she turned her head away, not wanting to maintain eye contact with him. It was becoming a nightmare with him by her side.
However, she knew she had to answer his question nevertheless. “Yes, let’s take a look around.”
They started moving around as Serenity took i every detail.
The employees stopped what they were doing and bowed in unison with respect.
Sebastian just ignored their presence.
Harris in the other hand nodded in acknowledgment, while Serenity kept her eyes on each and every employee working there, curious to see their reaction upon seeing them there.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed someone fidgeting with their hand, immediately finding it suspicious.
She kept staring at the employee, hoping to see something else, but her vision was blurred for a moment.
When she looked at the person closely, she realized he was neatral, just like the rest of the employees.
“Um, we came here for a routine inspection. Don’t mind us, just continue your work. We’ll take a look around and leave,” Serenity explained, trying to sound casual.
Harris saw that neither his son nor Serenity were ready to say anything else. He gestured for the employees to continue their work.
“I just stand here and observe,” Sébastien then said, trying to hide his annoyance.
Sasha, however, couldn’t contain her irritation. She despised Serenity and anything she did, good or bad, only fueled her anger. All she wanted was to kick her out of their lives once again.
But not everything went according to her wishes, as Sebastian was now protecting Serenity as family. Not just against her, but against anyone who posed a threat to her life.
“Alex, do you see anything? Find anything suspicious?” Serenity asked, leaning in closer to him.
Alex scanned the employees for a long moment before whispering back, “I think there’s one guy who’s acting strangely, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.”
Alex gazed at the employees for an extensive duration before whispering back to Serenity, “Yeah, I believe there’s one person whose behavior is…peculiar. I’m struggling to articulate it, but he’s emitting this aura that everything isn’t quite right with him.” He murmured to Serenity.
“Whom should I be discreet about?” She discreetly replied, “Don’t stare directly at him, just describe the color of his attire.” She whispered.
“The one wearing a light green shirt, Alex responded in a hushed tone.
“Ah, that’s referring to the mention of the light green shirt, Serenity instantly comprehended that her gut instinct was correct. She wasn’t mistaken, there was definitely something off about that person, which became evident the moment he laid eyes on Sebastian and his family.
He seemed composed, but Serenity could sense that something was amiss. However, he must have been adept at hiding his true nature as he immediately composed himself, giving no indication of his inner turmoil.
But Serenity and Alex had already caught a glimpse of the underlying suspicion. This was indeed the starting point for their investigation.
Sebastian, noticing Serenity and Alex huddled together in conversation, became annoyed and hastily pulled Serenity away
from Alex.
Growing increasingly frustrated, she exclaimed, “Sebastian, are you out of your mind? What on earth are you doing? Can’t you see we’re trying to work something here? We were discussing something important!” Serenity was now vividly angry, and her outburst drew the attention of everyone, including the employees who were working

Returning to deliberating her discoveries with Alex, Ariana clenched her jaw in frustration behind their backs
No one noticed her mask of rage, as she seethed not only towards Serenity but also towards Sebastian.
Who does he think he is, disregarding her existence? He may rule the crew, but she won’t allow him to be happy with Serenity.
Without anyone noticing, she quickly sent a message on her phone to someone discreetly. As she did, she couldn’t help but feel her plan falling into place. You just wait and see. Sébastien and Serenity! Ariana swore in her heart.
