After discussing with them for a while, the duo decided it was time to leave since they didn’t get anything beneficial from the police.
The Deputy Chief Officer expressed regret, stating that they were unable to gather sufficient information or evidence despite their best efforts. It seemed that everything pointed to the company being at fault.
“I’m sorry, Miss Morgan… We indeed tried our best, but we still couldn’t find any evidence. In my opinion, I think we should just leave everything to fall on MPK.
After all, everything started from their company. Who knows, maybe they are
Before he could finish, Serenity abruptly tore up the papers in her hand and threw it at him with a cold gaze.
“Thank you for your efforts. But if you dare utter something you aren’t so sure of in front of me about my clients you aren’t so sure of, you will have to meet me in court!” With that being said, she turned to leave without even glancing at the officer again.
The deputy was stunned by Serenity’s stern and cold gaze. Why did he feel like the lawyer was trying to defend MPK like it’s belongs to her?
Alex quickly followed suit, angrily muttering words under his breath as he left the room.
He paused and glared at the Deputy Chief before saying… “You don’t get to give her and advice!” After that, he left too, leaving Greg stood there with a dumbfounded expression.
He was left shocked and wondering what had just happened. Who were these people actually? He knew they were lawyers representing the MPK company, but did they have to be so confrontational?
After all, he was just giving them unharmed advice. Did they have to be this hostile towards him?

After leaving the police station, Serenity and Alex returned to the MPK company. As they made their way to the office. Serenity couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off, even though the Deputy Chief had assured her that there were no evidence and that MPK might actually be the perpetrators.
Her intuition told her otherwise, especially after they had discovered an incriminating employee within the company-
Something was definitely off. This case wasn’t as easy as it may seem. Many things and people might be involved.
Determined to uncover the truth, she poured over the information the Deputy Chief had given her, but her gut feeling persisted even though the information showed no evidence or whatsoever.
As Serenity frowned in concentration, Alex offered to help by checking the records.
He was glad that some of the papers were in his hands when Serenity tore those which were in her hands.
The girl may seem innocent with that face of hers. But when she pushed to her limits, she could do many crazy things that would shock everyone.
Sometimes, Alex and Gloria, and even Spencer, wonder if she’s bipolar or has doubled personalities.
After he carefully went through the document, Alex couldn’t help but comment on the rare sight of her frowning, teased her again, that she was finally meeting her match in this tough case.
Serenity couldn’t help but snort in response, brushing off his teasing.

She had never lost a case, and she wasn’t about to start now.

pointing at MPK. And yet again, she still couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off of her shoulders,
Leaving it like that, Serenity let out a sigh and rested back in her seat. She closed her eyes to catch some nap before they went. back to the company again.
Soon enough, they reached the company building. Alex nudged her to wake up.
As they approached the company building, they noticed a large gathering of people by the main gate, shouting and throwing things at the building.
The security guards were trying their best to stop the people from entering the building, while the reporters took pictures and
video.
Alex and Serenity were met with a security guard who helped them make their way through the crowd and into the company without any issues.
Once inside, they immediately spotted Sasha and the other family members together with the employees pacing anxiously on the ground floor in the receptionist area.
This was the same place where Serenity had almost been thrown out of the company by Sasha earlier in the morning
She wanted to go to them and asked about the situation outside, but their troubled expressions told her that this was not the right time. Or, she just didn’t want to talk to them.
“Alex, wait here. I will go to Sébastien and ask about the situation.” She said to Alex, who nodded in understanding before she left for the elevator to the Top
floor.
Discretely, she knocked on Sebastian’s door and waited for him to let her in. After, he’s the boss there.
She could have just barged in, but she wanted to give him the respect as the boss.
“Yes, you may enter”
Came in the deep yet melodious voice, which could make every woman fall for hirm without even seeing him.
Taking deep breaths to calm her heart and nerves, Serenity pushed the door open and entered.
As she entered, she noticed that Sébastien was sitting behind his desk, looking concerned.
Though his face was still cold and devoid of any emotions, Serenity could still see the worries on his face. After all, she had once lived with him for many years before. She knew him better than anyone.
“Seb –” she didn’t even finish her words when Sébastien stood yo from his seat and rushed to her side with concern.
He went to her side and bombarded her with questions of worry. “You’re back! What happened? Are you alright? Do those people outside hurt you? Let me see…” He even started checking her body for any signs of injury.
Serenity was stunned, to say the least. What the hell is wrong with him?
