Chapter 29
As the crowd of victims‘ family members gathered, demanding compensation for their suffering, a female reporter decided it was her turn ask questions.
“Miss Morgan, now let me ask you… are you the representative of MPK, or are you just an employee of MPK? Do you know what your company has done to these innocent people? Just call the CEO to come out instead of sending you the reporter asked her voice laced with indignation.
But before she could continue with her nude questions, Serenity, with a chilling gaze, turned the tables on the reporter by asking the same question again
“And who are you, exactly?” she asked, her smile still lacking any warmth. “What business do you have here?” The reporter was taken aback. She also thought she would expect a response to her question since she was a girl. But she was surprised her. questions were also met with the same question and nterrogation.
The crowd began to grow restless, and another one of the family members, unable to contain his anger, lunged forward, intent on striking her for good. But the earlier security guard swifily intervened again, holding the man back. The crowd erupted in outrage, shouting and hurling objects at Serenity.
Serenity just stared at them like clons. To her, these people were idiots and the only way to deal with them is to play by their.
own rules.
She intentionally ignored their questions in order to break their mental fortitude, and thankfully, the teporters didn’t disappoint her. Right now, she was sure about her earlier assumption
These people didn’t come to MPK on their own account. Someone was pushing the buttons behind the curtains.
A professional reporter wouldn’t ask those childish questions those reporters asked. It seemed that newbies or those questions were drafted to them by someone.
Now, she had to concentrate on the so–called families of the victims. She badly wants to get any news regarding the current crisis in MPK.
Finally, seeing how Serenity ignored an their insulta compromise was reached, and the crowd calmed down as they demanded for a compensation so that they could leave the place,
However, Serenity remained unfazed, her cold demeanor unwavering. “What compensation are you people seeking?” she asked, her voice devoid of empathy. “How many have you received so far from MPK?”
The man, still seething with anger, exploded. “My 74–year–old father consumed your product and is now fighting for his life in the hospital! And you have the audacity to ask me questions?” He asked furiously, saliva spitting from his mouth.
The man’s outburst was met with a calm yet piercing smile from Serenity. “Do you expect me to believe that you’re struggling to support your family because of us?” she asked, her tone laced with skepticisin.
The man’s retaliation, filled with insults and demands for compensation, was quickly drowned out by the crowd’s own jeers and taunts. But Serenity remained unfazed, waiting for the commotion to die down before addressing the man directly.
“If your father, who’s 74 and hospitalized, was previously dependent on you, then shouldn’t you be grateful that we’re covering his medical expenses now?” she asked, her logic piercing through the man’s anger. “You’re not shouldering the burden of his hospital bills, and you’re not responsible for his daily care. So, how does his hospitalization affect you?” She asked confidently.
The crowd’s murmurs of agreement grew louder as they realized the flaws in the man’s argument.
Serenity turned her attention to another person, her gaze icy as she looked a woman in her 40s. “And what’s your story? Which family member was affected by our products?” She asked.
Tuhm- actually 1- uhm- my son was uhm admitted to the hospital because because he consumed your product. The woman answered with much difficulty as beads of sweat creased her forehead instantly
The woman’s trembling response was met with a raised eyebrow and a smirk from Serenity.
“How old is your son?” she asked, her voice devoid of empathy. The woman’s desperate glances around, hoping for someone to support her claim. But she was met with silence, as the crowd seemed to vanish, though still standing there quietly, leaving

her alone to face Serenity’s piercing questioning.
Sebastien couldn’t help but feel proud of Serenity as he wat he’d her from behind. She has really grown different and strong. She’s no longer than a naive sweet girl
Serenity, a determined and fierce woman, stood out amidst the crowd, her interrogationd and questions left everyone speechless.
The woman, hoping to garner support from the onlookers, was met with reluctance as they distanced themselves from her, unwilling to be drawn into the confrontation.
The reason was clear: Serenity’s relentless questioning made it evident that she was well–acquainted with their situation. Who in their right mind would go forward?
“Why are you silent? Why won’t you answer me?” Serenity pressed, her eyes scanning the crowd.
The woman, after a moment of hesitation, replied, “He’s 9 years old. And he’s But before she could complete her statement, Serenity raised her hand, cutting her off.
“So, your son is 9 years old? Did MPK take away your livelihood? If you’re his sole caregiver, we can compensate you. But do you cover his hospital expenses? How many times have we compensated you? Serenity asked coldly.
The woman was struck silent, unsure of how to respondnsuch questions.
The reporters, too, were taken aback, fearful of being questioned by Serenity. They decided to leave quietly when no one is watching
With a fierce determination, Serenity addressed the crowd, “Listen, everyone. We’ve been taking care of your families‘ hospital expenses and providing compensation for a long time.
Yet, you continue to demand more money. This is illegal, and 1, Serene Morgan, representative lawyer of MPK, will send you a letter from the court if you leave right now.
If you keave quietly without any more ruckus, I promise to let you all go. But if you keep causing trouble here, be prepared to face me in court.” She said with so much confidence that the crowd became terrified.
They exchanged worried glances, their panic evident. The reporters, still reeling, looked at each other, unsure of what to do.
Serenity’s caugt sight of their confusion state and declared… Tell whoever sent you that they can’t bring MPK down as long as I’m their lawyer,” Her bold words left everyone stunned, including those watching from inside.
The problem in MPK seemed to have long been orchestrated by external forces. It appears, designed to discredit the Williams family, or… it’s because of him, Sébastien,
Serenity thought, putting one and two together on a spot.
But now thag shes represening them as their lawyer, she’s more determined than ever to uncover the truth and expose the mastermind behind all these schemes.
Her dedication goes beyond mere professional duty, as she’s fighting for the very legacy of her twins, whose father’s company
is at stake.
