“Everything you have is now mine,” Suzy said. Why are you still alive? Why haven’t you killed yourself?”
Eventually, I realized how evil Suzy was.
I distanced myself from my family, not just because of my parents‘ bias but also because I did not want to fight with Suzy.
If she could take away my parents‘ love, she could take anything from me.
I knew that well. I didn’t want to keep struggling futilely in this mire.
I tried to avoid Suzy, but she persisted in seeking me out.
She told me that my father did not give up despite failing to force me into marriage the first time. They had a second match lined up for me.
“This man is old and ugly. He’s a gambler and hires escorts all the time. He’s willing to pay 300,000 dollars for you, and if you give him a son, he’ll throw in another 100,000 dollars!”
I didn’t understand why Suzy hated me so much.
That day, we fought.
“Are you sick in the head, Suzy Jones?” I demanded. “Why are you so fixated on tormenting me? You know exactly how your parents died!”
“You killed my parents!” Suzy screamed hysterically. “You should’ve died. Why didn’t you die?”
She lunged at me, trying to hit me, but I dodged. To my surprise, she was holding a pen, the sharp nib aimed right at me.
I thought that she had gone insane. I didn’t want to engage with her, but she refused to back down.
Ironically, as Suzy tried to stab me in the eye with the pen, she suddenly twisted her foot and fell to the ground, her eye hitting the sharp edge of the curb.
She ended up with facial abrasions and an injured eye. Without a corneal transplant, she would gradually go blind.
Unsurprisingly, my father assumed that I had hurt Suzy intentionally.
I did not bother to defend myself. “Think whatever you want.‘

You ungrateful wretch!” My father was furious. He kicked me. Over the years, his blows had grown to become a grim routine. “Suzy’s blind because of you! You should give her your eyes!
