Chapter 39
I stare at the guests waiting at the beach for the wedding
Marcus and Jen now opted for a classic beach wedding and I got everything covered for them.
It is a small wedding with my family and our small circle of friends and coworkers.
Marcus didn’t look for his parents or family and he says he wants nothing to do with them.
So I am having the honor of walking him down the aisle.
I look back at Marcus and I see him nervous,
“Don’t tell me you are nervous, weren’t you the one blabbering your mouth a few seconds ago” I tease with a chuckle.
He smiles back and looks at the guest, “I am not nervous, I just feel like everything doesn’t seem real that I am going to wake up one day and see this all a dream or a lie. If someone would have told me 15 years ago that this orphan who was unloved will stand here, now a manager, a CEO and a millionaire let alone be getting married, I would have laughed at their faces. Now here I am, with my best friend and sister getting married to the woman of my dreams“he says, a tear slipping along his cheek.
“Me too. If someone told me 15 years ago that I would be a mother after the horrific events in my life, I would slapped them right across the face“I say wiping my own tears.
“Thank you Crystalise, thank you for saving me that day, for giving me a new purpose in life, I wouldn’t be here without you, I will forever hold my life to you. I love you so much“he hugs me.
“I love you too Marcus, you are my brother and I’ll do everything for you. Blood or not, siblings for life“I tell him and we hug a little longer.
Suddenly the piano begins to play,” this is a cue“I sniff and break from the hug.
We wipe our eyes and put on a genuine smile, so does Marc
We hook arms and begin to walk down the aisle.
My silk satin dress blows along with the wind, and my heels sink each time I step into the sand.
A few minutes later after leaving Marcus at the alter and taking a seat next to my mom, I see my son, who is the ring bearer and a cute little flower girl walking hand in hand and my helping her like the gentleman he is.
“Hey mama” he waves at the sight of me.
Seconds later the music changes and Jen starts walking down the aisle with her father.
She is in a one of Marcus’s collections, a halter neck ball gown with a 53 inches veil and a hand made bouquet.
Her hair is in a beautiful ponytail and endowed with a flower like head piece, just like Catherine’s, princess of
Wales
The ceremony proceeded and it was beautiful as expected, Marcus cried, so did I and Jen, we laughed at his witty ways and now he is married.
We are now at the reception area, it gives us a beautiful view of the sea from here.
“Let’s welcome the newlyweds” the MC cheers and everyone claps as they enjoy both changed into a different
dress.

went
“Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the evening. Well my speech is going to short and simple” I smile
“Marcus and I have been friends since our teens and I would say it hasn’t been easy for us. We grew together, through life together, cried and laughed together. We shared both happy and sad memories together, although he is my better half, I am so glad he found his soul mate, they both deserve each other. Life gave us another chance,I believe chances are worth it as he taught me that is why I have taken his advice to heart and learn from him to myself a chance at love again. I wish nothing but the best to these couples. Cheers to them“I raise my glass and everyone claps for.
I step
down and my eyes lock with Zander’s, he is wearing a sad smile on his face. He walks up to me,“can I have this dance” he asks.
I nod and take his hands and we both sway along with the music.
“Did you really mean what you said? About the speech” he says softly.
“Yes, I think it is time I let off the past and focus on the future and if my future entails you in it then why stop the inevitable. I am giving you this chance but we are doing this on my terms, we are going slowly, like a sloth. We’ll get to know each other well and see where things go from there“I say and his eyes glisten with tears,
“Thank you, thank you so much for this chance. I promise to make it up to you. You never regret it” he sniffs.
I wipe his tears gently and he leans into it.
“You better” I whisper.
