“You know it was all you“he says and I could feel mom looking in between us with worry and curiosity. “So how did you and Kaden meet Kenna“I ask diverting the question to her.
She blushes and I know it was a romantic encounter.
“He actually saved me from my family” she sighs and I know it was romantic. It was more of hero and victim. “Oh sorry for asking didn’t mean to pry“I say
“Don’t worry,I am over it now. I am now stronger and confident because of him. He made me who I am today” she says with and adoring gleam in her eyes.
“That is so sweet. So what are you expecting?“I ask
“The doctor says it is girl but who knows it maybe a boy” she shrugs.
“Any names yet?” I ask
“We were thinking about Glyndon but Kaden has been having second thoughts about it“she replies
“I knew a Glyndon once,she was hit by a bus“Marcus says dryly and I elbow him seeing the horrifying expression on Kenna’s face.
“What? I am saying the truth. Don’t name her Glyndon. A name like Aria, Leah or even Diamond is a better name” he shrugs and I give Kenna an apologitic look.
“I.I think Kaden and I will rethink the name through again she mutters and continues to eat.
I glare at Marcus who continues to not pay attention to me
I sigh and looked forward only to see mom staring at me with a soft smile on her face.
“Ask mom?“I say softly
“Nothing–am just glad you’re finally back to me. When we lost Crystal,I thought….I thought I would never hug my daughters again: We you left, I had a little bit of reassurance but she was here,even tho you weren’t, I could still feel you through her. I am just happy you are back” she smiles softly and my heart tugs with guilt.
If only she knew the truth about everything.

Mint and wood.
Then the second scent filled my nostrils, a scent I’ll never get tired of my father. Honey and ashes.
Then my brother’s was the last I could smell.
Within a second all three presence were in the kitchen.
My brother was by his wife and he doesn’t even spare me a glance. Mama takes Gem from him although he was fussy and reluctant to leave my side.
I face my dad first, I could read him like a book, his eyes shown anger, betrayal, hurt and most of all longing.
My eyes then moves to Alpha Zander, Anger and….. longing was all I could see.
“Alpha,Dad,Kaden” I greeted.
“Warriors, cease her!” is the command Zander gives.
“What?“Marcus, Kenna,mom and I say at the same time…
Within a second two guards were holding me capitive, pushing Marcus back when he tried to protect me.
“You have the nerves to show your face here after everything you’ve caused!“he yells his voice shaking the entire
house.
“How dare you? How dare you utter those words after everything! You have no right to hold me hostage! I am no longer part of this pack. Remember you rejected me! You never cared about me! You were willing to let me die for my sister,see how it turned out!“I yelled back angrily before realizing I spilled out my shame and secret.
Mom, dad, Kenna and Kaden all gasped at the same time.
“What is she talking about Alpha Zander?” my mom’s wobbly voice says.
“Take her to dungeon and lock her up“he says in his alpha voice ignoring mom’s question. 1
“You’ll do no such thing Alpha. You rejected my daughter! You caused her to leave! You didn’t care that she would die!“mom yells.
“Let her go now!“Marcus says
“Shut up human boy. Be glad your head isn’t on a stick.“Zander hisses
“Let her go Alpha. You can’t keep her in a dungeon. She hasn’t committed any crime. It is once decision to leave a pack” mom defended.
I look at my father hoping he’ll say something. His voice matters in this situation
“She broke the law. She killed a warrior and betrayed the pack. That is punishable by death” he says,
“Zack! Do something about this!“mom yells at dad.
“Let him do his job Ellisa“dad sigh and I looked at him in horror.
“How can you say that? She is our daughter!“mom yells.
“Did she remember that when she left without talking to us When she cut off contact with everyone. When her sister got depressed and died with my grandson trying to find her. No. She ceased being my daughter from that moment onwards “dad says in a cold tone.
“What the fuck Zack!? She just said he rejected her. She just told us the reason she left. The makes sense” she cries.

“She could have told us. But she chose to be alone,so she’ll deal with this alone“he says.
My body was numb. My entire existence was numb from my father’s words alone.
I look at him straight in the eyes as I allow the tears to flow
“Take her away. Put her in soltice, nobody goes there until I am there. Understood?”
“Yes Alpha“they replay and begun to drag me away.
Mom was sobbing, Marcus was consoling her, Kaden never once looked at me.
But nothing hurt more than father’s words.
Nothing matters now.
