Chapter 20
The fire was finally put out more than an hour later.
David did not want the others to know about this, but with how big the commotion had been, other people still found out.
I hurt Melissa’s hear.
The wooden cabin getting burned down did not matter too much. It was used to store miscellaneous items and was not worth much money.
However, her favorite rose garden was right on the side. A professional florist had cultivated those roses, Pink, red, and white roses of various types should be blooming beautifully together, but they were all destroyed now.
“David, check the security camera and see who set the fire, Melissa said through clenched jaws.
The next day. Ava went downstairs and saw everyone’s unhappy expressions
Sophia looked a bit sick, but she was still beautiful. Her colorless cheeks made her seem more like a delicate and fragile doll.
The atmosphere in the house was a bit tense.
They were discussing something, but they all fell silent when they saw Ava
She pulled a chair out and sat down, getting ready to eat breakfast.
Melissa glanced at her. “Did you hear the big commotion last night! You look like you slept well,” Melissa said sarcastically.
Indeed, Ava’s skin was clear, and her cheeks flushed pink. She looked very healthy.
“Yes,” Ava said, taking her time. “The mattress is soft and comfortable. I no longer have to sleep on a hard bed, so I slept much better than usual”
Her answer was so matter–of–factly that Melisa suddenly could not think of a comeback.
“We still do not know who set the fire. If we catch him, I will never forgive him!”
Ava gasped. There was a fire yesterday? What caught on fire?”
Melissa kept her eyes trained on Ava’s expression.
They had checked the security camera yesterday but to no avail.
There had been a power shortage in the area for a few minutes.
So, all of the nearby security cameras were blank.
Naturally. Ava’s expression did not reveal anything either.
Melissa had no losses other than her favorite rose garden. David did not want to cause a bigger commation, so they could not get to the bottom o
chis incident
However, rumors spread like wildfire.
After breakfast, Melissa brought Ava to register at Rosemont High School while Sophia went directly to school.
“Sophia, are you really fine! Do you want to take another day off?”
“Mom, there’s no need. We had a break for seven days, so I feel much better now.”
She coughed softly after that
As soon as they left, the servants s
“I think Ava is pure bad luck”
started gossiping
“Yeah, she just got here, and a disaster like this happened. She’s definitely bad luck.”
“I bet she is the one who set the fire. People like her who don’t have parents are all messed up inside?”
“Shush, she’s here”
“Why are you afraid of! No one likes her.”
Ava just glanced at that servant coldly.

Chapter 20
When that servant mei Ava’s eyes, her heart seemed to freeze instantly.
Avas eyes were to leary!
The servant patted her chest. Ava had walked off into the distance before she could recover.
The others asked the servant what was wrong, but she could not say that she got intimidated by a little girl’s eyes, right? That was too crazy,
Ava, Sophia, and Melissa got into the car. The driver started driving, and no one spoke the entire ride.
Sophia did not look very spirited today.
After all, such a big commotion had happened last night.
Sering how Sophia was, Melissa felt even worse.
She had been raising this little girl since she was five, so Sophia had a special place in her heart.
As for Ava, Melissa felt disgusted whenever she looked at her.
Ava was her disgrace.
Swalking her anger, Melissa told Ava. “Remember to be good and listen to the teachers and Sophia at school. Do not cause trouble. Get rid of

I had been years since Ava heard this kind of instruction.
In her past life, Ava had been terrified and timid. In this life, there was slight annoyance
m here
Rosemont High School was a hundred–year–old school. The campus was covered in greenery
Rosemont High School had a 99 percent college acceptance rate, and 95 percent of students were accepted to top schools. Entering this school was practically the same as getting into college.
The wealth gap was pretty big here too.
There was a clear line between the kids of wealthy families and those of the regular working class.
However, Rosemont High School’s principal Wallace Dixon did not play favorites or make exceptions.
There were strict standards for admissions. Students with bad grades would not be accepted, no matter how powerful their family wa
Sophia’s grandpa was old friends with Wallace. In addition, Ava’s grades in Brookhaven were above average and could get into a community college, so Wallace accepted her.
“Sophia, can you get to the classroom by yourself?”
Sophia laughed and whined cutely to Melisu, “Mom, do you still think I am a kindergartener? I’m almost 18
“So i
what if you are 18? You will be Mommy’s little girl even when you are 68
Many people greeted Sophida along the way.
“Sophia“”
“Sophia Walker”
“Sophie!”
People called her all sorts of nicknames.
Sophia came from a wealthy family:
nily. She was pretty, had a gentle personality, and was very kind. It made sense that she was popular in school.
“Mom, you can go with Ava. I will go to class with my friends.”
The other kids looked at Ava, who was a few steps behind Sophia
They all wondered if this girl was one of Sophia’s relatives.
She was honestly super pretty.
It was impossible not to notice her.
Their eyes kept going to Ava without them realizing it as if their e
eyes had their own mind.

Chapter 20.
Melissa reluctantly watched Sophia walk away. Then she looked at Ava with disgust. “Hurry up,” she wil
Ava looked around the campus. She had spent one year here in her past life, but it had been like a nightmare.
She hurried to catch up with Melissa
Ava and Melissa reached the school office, bat Elmer said unexpectedly, “Mrs. Walker, the principal wants you to go to his office.
Thus caught Melissa by surprise
Even Ava arched an eyebrow. This was not expected.
In her past life, she had done the paperwork with Melissa and got enrolled directly. The principal had not personally welcomed her.
This made Melissa a bit anxious. “Can we not? This daughter of mine just came from a small town. I am afraid she does not have the proper
manners.
If Ava somehow offended Wallace,
“It is just a quick meeting. Mr. Dixon wants to meet her.”
Elmer’s eyes landed on Ava’s body
Awa’s clear eyes met his, and Ava smiled at him.
The man was taken aback, and he subconsciously smiled back.
In Ava’s past life, she had worked hard to make the Walker family and Melissa look good. She stayed up late for an entire month and studied as hard
as possible to be ranked in the top 20 of the class. In the end, everyone said she had cheated. It was Elmer who had taken her side
In this life, she would never let herself get misunderstood like this.
However, Elmer’s protection in her past life still held a warm part of her heart.
In Elmer’s eyes, Ava was a great girl. She was confident, and her eyes were clean and innocent.
