Chapter 5
Joshua’s eyes widened, and he was about to say
by something, but Gabriel interrupted him abruptly. “Give me her information.”
Joshua nodded in agreement and was about to speak, but Gabriel gestured toward the adjacent bedroom, indicating him to be quiet.
Gabriel had impeccable features, exuding a remarkable elegance that could captivate anyone.
Gabriel give off a devilishly charming vibe when he made that gesture.
If it were not for their long–standing friendship and Joshua growing up with that face, he might have suspected that he would fall in love with Gabriel one day.
They all had misconceptions about Gabriel, thinking he was aloof and restrained. In reality, he was a complex blend of reserved and mischievous, never following the conventional rules. Beneath his cold exterior, there had passionate emotion
Just like today, when they were strolling around together and got caught in a sudden downpour. Gabriel suddenly became feared on that alleyway and insisted on driving into it.
In theory, this place was one
e they might never set foot in.
But because of Gabriel’s insistence and a twist of fate, they ended up in the current situation.
Seeing Gabriel lying down, Joshua decided not to disturb him any further.
He took out his phone and sent a message, com
sent a message, conveying Gabriel’s instructions.
Joshua glanced at Gabriel, who had already setled down on the small couch. For someone who stood over 39 feet like Gabriel, the sofa seemed cramped
Gabriel’s long legs had no place to rest. Yet, he closed his eyes, and a faint smile lingered on his lips, radiating an immense sense of contentment.
Witnessing Gabriel in this state, Joshua
a could not help but smile with relief.
If it could genuinely make Gabriel happy, Joshua would be willing to give not just 100 thousand dollars to Ava but even 200 thousand dollars.
Twenty years ago, after Gabriel woke up from a high fever, he seemed like a different person
He insisted on receiving a phone call every morning and evening from Joshua to confirm his well–being. Wherever Joshua went, Gabriel demanded updates on his whereabouts.
If it were not for their long history together. Joshua would have thought that Gabriel had fallen in love with him.
And then, at regular intervals. Gabriel would visit Rosemont as if searching for something.
Whenever Joshua asked, Gabriel remained silent.
Joshua had to suspect if Ava was what Gabriel had been searching for
Recalling Gabriel’s enchanted expression as he got off the car with an umbrella in hand after seeing Ava for the first time, Joshua could not help but feel a healache coming up
He suspected that Gabriell had truly fallen in love.
However, Ava was a few months younger than the Walker family’s daughter in Rosemont. There was quite an age gap between her and Gabriel
The following day. Ava was roused from her slumber by the sound of knocking at her door.
She rubbed her checks and let out a lazy yawn, a gentle glimmering in her eyes.
She was in a foul mood and did not seem quite herself
She had been restless the previous night.
Perhaps because she was about to return to Rosemont, Ava found herself dreaming of her previous life once again. It had been a long time since those memories resurfaced.
On that final night, Sophia had mercilessly slashed her face, while Melissa and David tumed a blind eye, wrongly assuming that even in her final moments, she would continue to torment their precious daughter.
Ava could not help but touch her cheek, a fleeting surge of cold emotions passing through her gaze.
Now that she had returned, Ava was determined to make everyone who had wronged her in the past pay for their actions. She vowed to inflict upon them the same torment they had once subjected her in. Whatever they had taken away from her in the past, she would ensure they lost the same in

Chapter 3
Ava sat up in bed and reached for the phone beside her.
There were several missed calls, starting at 7 am, and stretching until fram.
The phone number was not saved in her contacts, yet Ava was all too familiar with it. She could even recite the number in reverse order. It was
Melissa’s number.
Additionally, a bank transfer notification showed a deposit of 100 thousand dollars.
It came as no surprise to Ava. Gabriel possessed an extensive network, and investigating her bank account number was no formidable task for him.
Cutside the door, the chauffeur called out, “Aval Aval
It was Melissa’s chauffeur, James Johnson.
He had been calling for half an hour, drawing the attention of those nearby.
He never expected Ava to sleep so soundly, causing him to curse her in his thoughts silently. As he had predicted, Ava could not measure up to Sophia in any aspect. She fell far short.
A trace of disdain flashed across James’s eyes.
Ignoring the persistent knocking on her house door, Ava rose from the bed and opened her room door.
Just as she suspected, Gabriel and Joshua were nowhere to be found in the living room. Instead, neatly folded blankets were on the sofa.
Ava’s gaze casually swept over them before she proceeded to freshen up. She took her time, ensuring that everything was in order.
As another round of knocking commenced, accompanied by James’s increasingly frustrated and impatient voice, the door swung open with a resounding thud.
James’s hand hung suspended in mid–air, his eyes fixed in dumbfounded awe upon Ava before him
Ava had donned a casual ensemble, a white chiffon blouse, and a black umbrella skirt.
The skin cascaded to her mid–calf, revealing a glimpse of delicate ankles
The blouse was tucked into the waist, accentuating her slender figure.
Yet, her most captivating Feature resided in her beautiful eyes, which held an indescribable allure. They were like bottomless pools, drawing anyone who gazed into them and leaving them irresistibly captivated and unable to break free.
Her disheveled hair tumbled freely behind her, radiating an undeniable allure. However, her expression remained cold and distant, as if her entire being radiated a message to others, saying, “Do not come near me.
While Sophia possessed her own beauty, she paled in comparison to Ava, not even coming close to half of Ava’s allure.
Ava parted her lips, her voice carrying a crisp sweetness mingled with an indescribable detachment, as she asked, “Have you seen enough!”
