Chapter 7
Melissa and David had been married before and had children of their own, but they had always wanted a child that belonged solely in them.
Yet, as Melissa approached her forties, there was still no sign of a baby in her belly. She was becoming desperate
Looking at Ava’s cold demeanor, completely different from the mother–daughter reunion she had imagined, with Ava’s teary eyes, Melissa felt her heart tighten with unease.
“Ava” Melissa called out to her.
But Ava did not
not even bother to open her eyes.
She was afraid she would not be able to control herself and would end up strangling Melissa right then and there.
In her previous life, when she first arrived in the Walker family, she was cautious and accommodating to Sophia in everything.
When things were bothering Sophia, she stood in front of her with her frail b
Ibody, trembling with fear.
If someone had not arrived in time, she might have been sexually assaulted by several men.
Her face and body were covered in wounds
She was terrified, trembling with fear.
But when Melissa rushed over, the first thing she did was embrace Sophia, her eyes filled with concern
Then, after comforting Sophia, when Melissa faced Ava, Melisa slapped her and scolded her for not protecting Sophia.
Later, she found out that Sophia had brought those thugs.
Sophia deliberately orchestrated this scheme, wanting those men to assault her so that she would live with the psychological trauma for the rest of
her life.
“Ava. I’m calling you!”
Ava suddenly opened her eyes, looked at Melissa with a cold expression, and said, “What’s the matter? I didn’t sleep well yesterday. I’m tired”
Melissa was so furious that her good manners were about to be shattered.
She raised her hand, ready to slap Ava.
But somehow, when she met Ava’s eyes, that slap did not land.
Those eyes were pitch black, and the emotions were unclear.
Realizing that she was intimidated by that gaze, Melissa felt her heart skip a beat, followed by a headache.
Thinking about the information from the investigation, she started to feel a headache.
If it were not for David wanting to keep va as the blood bank, she would never have brought her back to cause herself trouble
On the way, there was only silence between Ava and Melissa
The traffic was congested on the way, and after nearly two hours, the car arrived at the Walker family’s mansion in Rosemont.
The villa area of the Waller family was situated halfway up the hill by the seaside.
At dusk, one could ascend to the rooftop of the three–story building and witness the breathtaking sight of the setting sun over the sea
The residents of this area were either wealthy or influential.
The servant opened the door, and the car drove into the garage.
Throughout the journey, Melissa had been holding back a lot of words.
When Ava got out of the car, picked up her suitcase, and started walking on her own, Melissa could not bear it any longer.
“Stop right there! I haven’t said anything yet, and you’re just walking in as if you own the place. Do you think you’re the master here! Are you so eager to move into those well–decorated rooms! You truly are a short–sighted fool!”
If it were the Ava from her past life, she would have been ashamed to death because of these words.
In her past life, she quickly leamed everything and excelled after arriving at Rosemont

Chapter 7
She had thought Melissa would be pleased.
However, she only received more scorn and suppression from Melissa
Now she understood that for someone who did not like her, no matter what she did, she would be hated by them. Even if she just took a breath, they would explode in rage.
“Listen to me. David was willing to take you in and even arranged for you to attend Rosemont High School, the best school in Rosemont, because David is kind–hearted. You shouldn’t be ungrateful. Although a few months older than you, your sister, Sophia, has always had health issues. You need to protect her, accommodate her, do you understand?”
Ava suddenly raised her eyes and looked at Melissa, a smirk forming at the corner of her lips.
Of course, Ava understood what Melissa meant. She could not understand it any better
The Ava from her past life was too naive, truly treating the Walker family as her own family and wholeheartedly being good to them.
She did not know that David treated her this way simply because he saw her as a mobile blood bank.
Later, he even developed sinister intentions, coveting her organs, never considering her a living, breathing person.
