Darlene stumbled backward when she recognized the woman.
“Stella? Why are you here?”
I smiled faintly and said, “I was the one who invited her, of course! Didn’t you want to apologize? Why don’t you apologize again and explain things once more with her as a witness?”
“Gianna! Have you lost your mind?”
I ignored Darlene’s screaming and pointed at Colton.
“Mrs. Hunter, this is the man Darlene has been seducing and sleeping with She’s now pregnant with his kid. Congratulations! The Hunter family is going to be welcoming a grandchild very soon!”
Darlene’s mother–in–law, Stella Rowell, immediately looked at her darkly. She stormed toward Darlene and slapped her squarely in the face.
“You slut! How dare you cheat on my son like this while still living under our roof?”
Colton hurriedly shielded Darlene behind him and explained anxiously, “Mrs. Hunter, you’re misunderstanding things. Darlene didn’t cheat on anyone! She only wanted a child, so I helped her fulfill her wish!”
Darlene held a hand to her swollen cheek and looked at Stella with a teary, pitiful face.
“I had no choice but to resort to this because your son can’t get it up!”
Stella shook angrily as she replied, “You could still have tried other ways, like IVF! Why did you have to go and sleep with a jerk?”
“Why would I resort to artificial means when I’ve got the real thing right there? I’ve already slept with Colton so many times, even before I married your son anyway!”
Darlene finally exposed her deepest, darkest secret. And with that, Stella’s fury hit the roof.
She looked around and caught sight of the broom lying in the corner. She then grabbed hold of it and started swinging the handle in Darlene’s direction.
