Chapter 16 – Building Frustrations
Emelia’s POV
Just as I was finally ready to submerge myself in flames of passion, a sudden knock at the door shattered the entire atmosphere. Instantly, the air had gone cold, and pleasure quickly turned into irritation.
“Victor!” Lily’s unpleasant voice clawed through the door. “I need your help now!”
“Fuck!” Victor hissed under his breath.‘
“You can’t be serious!” I groaned under my breath.
We both pulled away from each other and scattered to get our clothes on. The tension and frustration was so thick in the air, it was almost hard to breathe.
Why? Why now?
After we were both clothed, we had to take a few extra moments to catch our breaths.
The sensation of our bodies having been so close didn’t go away for me as easily. I could feel the heat of my arousal still pooled at the bottom of my stomach. It was almost painful to have had the few moments of pleasure yanked away from me so abruptly.
As for Victor, he seemed to be able to compose himself much more easily. He opened the door and wore a strained, obviously strained smile. “Is everything okay, Lily? What did you need help with?”
Lily pouted, seemingly oblivious–or intentionally so–to Victor’s mood. “Mom left but didn’t cook anything for dinner… Can you help me? You know cooking isn’t exactly my strong suit.”
“Strong suit? You can’t even cook.” Victor joked. “Don’t worry, I can make you something quick.”
Victor then gave me an apologetic look. “This won’t take long, okay?”
I rolled my eyes and huffed, not even dignifying his words with a response.
I rubbed my fingers against the side of my head and went downstairs with them. Admittedly, I was still very hungry since I had mostly slept the whole day and evening away.
But now, the hunger I was feeling was different than the need for food.
I took my seat at the stool next to the island and watched as Lily and Victor walked around the kitchen. From my perspective, it didn’t even seem like she was actually hungry for food.
She’s probably hungry for more attention than anything else…..
“So, do you know what you want to eat? I was able to have groceries delivered the other day, so I can make you whatever you want.” Victor said.
“Hm…” Lily placed a hand on her hip. “What does the chef suggest?”
“Well, we can keep things simple. How does spaghetti sound?”
“And ruin this cute yellow dress mom just bought for me?” Lily pouted. “No. Next!”
“Okay, so something less messy. What about a sub sandwich?”
“With what kind of meat?”
“Ham? Turkey?”

“What is this, Thanksgiving?” Lily laughed. “No. Besides, don’t really like a lot of vegetables.”
“still” Victor laughed with her. “Vegetables are good for you, you know. They have a lot of nutritional value.”
“Well, I’m not a little bunny rabbit that likes to eat grass.” Lily stuck out her tongue. “Oh! I know! How about we bake some cookies? I could always go for something sweet!
Victor rolled his eyes. “Sweets this late at night? All that sugar isn’t good for you before you’re supposed to go to bed. Come on, how about you choose an actual meal that’s good for you.”
“Then can we bake cookies tomorrow?
“Yes, we can bake cookies tomorrow. Now, quit being picky”
“Quit rushing me!”
1 buried my head in my hands as I tried to stifle a groan. On top of the sexual frustration that lingered, now I had to deal with listening to Lily be picky with her food as if she were a toddler.
I truly had no idea how Victor was dealing with this now, much less figuring out how he had been dealing with it for years.
When I looked at Victor’s face, it was then I noticed that hear still lingered across his features. Did he also same lingering frustration I did?
It was like he could read my mind as he turned his head towards me and locked eyes with me.
Then, I got an idea.
Suddenly, I hopped off my chair and crossed the kitchen distance so I could grab Victor’s hand.
“All this talking has to be making you hungry, too.” I raise a brow as I trailed my hand up the side of his arm. How hungry are you?
Victor’s gaze never left mine as his eyes darkened. Behind those beautiful blue eyes glimmered something mischievous–a desire.

My lips tilted into a smirk as I hugged on his arm and pressed my body against him. “I know you said sweets before bed weren’t good for you, but I’ve been dying to have you try out my special dessert recipe. I’d been saving it just for you.”
Victor’s eyes flashed with a warning as he snaked his hand around my waist and pulled me against him.
I had him hooked.
But it was then that Lily cleared her throat. She gave me a sideways glance of annoyance as she tapped her foot on the floor. “I’m still hungry, you know…”
I smiled back at Lily. “Since Lily’s having a hard time picking out something to eat, we can always order takeout.” I placed a kiss along, his cheek to solidify my intentions.
“So, Victor, what would you say?”
