Chapter 3
Of course, he couldn’t get through.
By then, I had already boarded the plane with my mother, ready to take a trip and clear my
mind.
Unable to reach me, Declan hung up the phone, looking toward Camilla with a defeated expression.
“There’s nothing more we can do. For now, we just have to leave it like this.”
It was a weekday, and there was still a lot of work to delegate to the team.
Declan couldn’t afford to skip out on his responsibilities, so he had no choice but to take Camilla with him to the office.
I had anticipated this. Before I even boarded the plane, I’d made sure to ask my secretary to organize the company’s revenue reports.
As soon as they entered the office, Camilla was handed the reports.
It didn’t take much to see through her–she was only sticking close to Declan for the money. Well, I decided to let her see how much she could “control“.
Just as I expected, Camilla’s eyes widened as she looked at the numbers on the report.
She ran her fingers over the figures, clearly unable to hide the delight spreading across her
face.

Declan chuckled at her exaggerated reaction, picking up a pen to sign the documents.
My secretary, who had been briefed by me, raised her hand to stop him.
“Ma’am, this is the company’s revenue report. Only Mr. and Mrs. Specter are allowed to make marks on it.”
Declan instinctively started to speak up, but then his eyes landed on his own hand holding the pen. He belatedly realized that he was no longer himself.
Resigned, he handed the pen to Camilla, allowing her to sign the report.
Camilla took the document, her hand trembling slightly as she read the long string of zeros.
“This report should be signed by me. So, does that mean I have control over this money?” she asked, her voice tinged with excitement.
“Of course, it’s all yours. This company belongs to you. You can do whatever you want with everything,” the secretary said.
Camilla gripped the pen with enthusiasm, barely able to contain her excitement.

Chapter 3
Declan, who had been listening to the lines I had fed my secretary, suddenly realized something was off.
“Hey, hey, hey, what are you talking about?” he exclaimed. “Control over the company? That’s a huge decision. How can one person just decide something like that?”
Before he could go on, my secretary interrupted.
“Ma’am, this is Mr. Specter’s office. No unauthorized people are allowed inside.”
Without another word, the secretary swiftly ushered Declan out of the office.
Declan called out in protest, but he couldn’t do anything to stop it. He turned to Camilla for help.
Camilla glanced at him before slowly giving a nod, allowing him, the “unauthorized person “, to stay in the office.
Despite being allowed to stay, Declan was visibly displeased.
“You’re just wearing my body now. You don’t understand a thing. Just do as I say,” Declan muttered, his voice barely audible in frustration.
Camilla, however, didn’t seem to be intimidated by Declan, who was now a soft–spoken woman who was much shorter. “How hard can it be? Being the boss means you don’t have to work, just spend money. It’s easy.”
She went right back to counting the zeros on the report, clearly planning to use this money to settle her debts.
Sure enough, while Declan was busy organizing and distributing work, Camilla began to fiddle with the company accounts.
But only Declan and I had access to those accounts.
Camilla, without fully understanding the system, clicked on the link, and a notification immediately popped up on Declan’s phone.
Seeing the alert outside the office, Declan’s expression darkened. He opened the door and stormed in.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he demanded.
Camilla, startled by his sudden entrance, slammed her laptop shut. Her face, however, quickly turned into one of irritation
“This is my office. Who told you to come in without knocking?” she snapped.
Mid–sentence, Camilla realized she had overstepped and quickly corrected herself, forcing a smile.

“Uh… I wasn’t doing anything. Just, uh, browsing around,” she stammered. “You’re busy, right? Don’t mind me. I’m fine on my own.”
Declan had already been embarrassed earlier by my secretary and Camilla. His patience was wearing thin.
Now, seeing Camilla trying to sneak around with the company’s funds, his face twisted with frustration:
He pulled out his phone, showed her the message, and explained what it meant before fixing her with a stern look.
“Were you trying to steal from the company when I wasn’t looking?”
The supposed “true love” between them seemed utterly meaningless when faced with real
money.
Realizing her mistake, Camilla quickly became flustered.
Without thinking, she moved closer to Declan, her voice softer than usual as she tried to apologize.
