15 Chapter 15: Move Closer
The hospital room was opened once again.
It turned out that Noah and Arabella had come together.
Arabella was wearing a white dress with polka dots, her beautiful face without makeup, clean
and pure.
She looked very innocent.
Julia glanced at them both and then indifferently shifted her gaze away.
No expression of happiness or unhappiness showed on her face.
Grandma Quarter’s face was cold, but her decorum prevented her from uttering any
insults.
direct
Arabella held a bunch of wild chrysanthemums in her hand that Grandma Quarter liked, “Grandma Quarter, I’ve come to see you.”
She said awkwardly, “I was coming out of the elevator and ran into Noah by chance.
Eliza went over and linked arms with Arabella, “Grandma, Arabella and I had planned to visit you today.”
The younger generation visiting the sick, Grandma Quarter wouldn’t drive them away.
Without much warmth, she responded, “Miss Shaw, thanks for your thoughts.”
Noah walked over to Julia and coldly passed her some bread, “I rushed here right after landing, you should eat some bread to fill your stomach for now!
It must have been the housekeeper at Jade Gardens who told him she was visiting her grandmother at the hospital.
He was now putting on a loving act for Grandma Quarter.
Julia smiled faintly as she took the bread, “Thank you.”
He noticed her expression was indifferent as he looked down, a flicker of something in his eyes.
Seeing her grandson and granddaughter–in–law getting along again made the old lady forget the displeasure she felt upon seeing Arabella just moments before.
She said, “Bread alone won’t do, let Amelia prepare some fruit for
you.
Amelia was the aunt who took care of Grandma Quarter’s needs; she asked Julia what fruit she wanted.
Julia replied, “An apple is fine, thank you Amelia.”
Arabella smiled gently, “Grandma Quarter, I should be going now.”
It was as if she was truly just visiting a sick person.
Eliza also said, “Grandma, I’ll leave with Arabella.
15 Chapter 15: Move Closer
After courteously greeting Leah Thompson, Arabella left the room with Eliza.
Leah picked up her purse and stood up, saying to Noah and Julia, “You two should stay and keep Grandma company for a while,” then turning to the elder Mrs. Quarter, “Mom, I’ll be going now.”
“In a couple of days, we are hosting a party at home; you should bring Julia to meet everyone!
These words from the grandmother finally made Leah feel a hint of displeasure.
They were even planning to introduce Julia to their social circle with a party.
However, Leah’s displeasure didn’t show on her face, “Mom, I understand, I will make the
arrangements.”
Leah cast a cursory glance at Julia before leaving the room.
Whether it was Arabella or Julia, Leah was dissatisfied with both of their statuses.
Noah pulled over a chair first, allowing Julia to sit, which she did without hesitation, feeling rightfully at ease.
Director Quarter personally pulling out a chair for her was quite a privilege.
Julia’s attitude lacked the former cautiousness.
Which inexplicably left him feeling a bit off.
Noah pulled another chair over to sit down.
“Grandma, we will pick you up when you’re discharged tomorrow.”
“There’s no need for you to come, just go about your busy lives.”
“Noah, don’t always think about work, when you have some spare time, you could go watch a
movie with Julia or have a meal together, Grandma Quarter advised her grandson on how to get along with girls, “Money is something you’ll never finish earning”
What Grandma Quarter worried about the most was Noah; as a child, his parents had left him with a nanny and barely looked after him.
Who knew that the nanny was heartless and abusive toward children.
By the time Grandma Quarter found out, the child’s personality had already changed.
He was cold and brooding.
Grandma Quarter always wanted to set up Julia with her grandson because she knew Julia would be wholeheartedly devoted when in love.
“Alright, I’ll
watch a movie with Julia later, Noah promised.
Julia felt uncomfortably awkward being called ‘Julia‘ by him.
Before, it had always been Secretary Land, Julia by her name.
It really was awkward for Director Quarter to suddenly use such an intimate nickname.
Julia Land’s mind was cluttered with random thoughts.
15 Chapter 15: Move Closer
“Sure, we’ll listen to Grandma.”
Noah Quarter and Julia walked shoulder to shoulder out of the hospital room.
Grandma Quarter’s formerly smiling face became solemn, a hint of worry marking her features, “Amelia, do you think these two kids think I’m senile?”
It was fairly obvious that they were pretending to get along in front of her.
Amelia Knight’s name was Amelia.
She had taken care of Grandma Quarter for over twenty years and, to some extent, understood her worries, “Grandmother, children and grandchildren have their own blessings.”
Grandma Quarter shook her head, “Well, I’ll give them another chance for as long as I’m alive. Once my eyes close, I can’t control them anymore.”
Julia followed Noah into the elevator.
They stood apart–one on the left and the other on the right–clearly divided.
Upon exiting the hospital, the driver pulled the car around.
The car window was half–open, and Arabella Shaw turned her head with a cheerful smile towards Noah, “Noah.”
It was a supposed coincidence in the hospital room, but in fact, Arabella had come with Noah.
The driver got out and opened the car door for Noah.
Julia waved, and a taxi came over, but before she could get in, Noah called out to her.
“Julia, did you forget what Grandma said? You’re riding shotgun.”
Julia, “?”
Wasn’t just paying lip service enough?
Did he really want to go on a date with her and see a movie?
Clearly, Noah had no intentions of merely paying lip service.
The taxi driver asked loudly, “Miss, are you still taking the taxi?”
“Sorry” Julia closed the taxi door, letting it drive away, and looked at Noah, asking, “Aren’t you supposed to be meeting Miss Shaw? What, are you thinking of a threesome?”
Noah looked at her indifferently, “Get in.”
The driver respectfully opened the passenger–side door.
Julia got in, not at all afraid. After all, she wouldn’t be the one getting Jealous.
It turns out, one can detach emotions rather quickly when necessary.
Noah turned his head and saw Arabella’s dim expression as she looked out the window, “Arabella,
we’ll drop you off at Imperial View Gardens first. Julia and I are just going to the movie theater and the restaurant to take a few pictures for Grandma.”
10:30

weight lifted from her heart as she whispered, “Okay.”
Noah glanced at the passenger seat, stretched out his arm, and drew Arabella into his embrace.
Julia’s expression remained calm as if she hadn’t heard the conversation between the two in the
back seat.
It was just a photo shoot, a simple task.
Upon arriving at Imperial View Gardens.
Before Arabella got out of the car, she stole a glance at the two people in front, and then quickly left a kiss on Noah’s cheek, “I’m going.”
Julia saw Arabella kiss Noah through the rearview mirror with an air of nonchalance.
Noah had booked the entire cinema, so only the two of them sat inside.
“Move a bit closer, we’re taking a photo.”
Julia moved closer, but they didn’t touch each other.
Noah held up his phone to take a selfie.
He hadn’t done this kind of selfie before, and the outcome wasn’t very good.
“Come closer.” He frowned.
Director Quarter’s life had slipped a notch in his photography skills.
Julia looked at the photo displayed on his phone screen, her face unevenly captured.
Her nine–out–of–ten beauty instantly dropped to a five. She pretended not to notice.
As they moved in closer to take the picture, they accidentally touched.
Noah was aware of the woman’s delicate skin.
He frowned with a cold expression.
