18 Chapter 18 I Like the Bewitching Child
Arabella Shaw bore the pain and spoke softly, “I’m fine, Eliza, please have someone take me to the hospital.
Noah Quarter knelt on one knee, looked at Arabella’s swollen ankle, stood up, and lifted her in his arms, “I’ll take you.”
With pitiful eyes, Arabella shook her head and pleaded, “Don’t, if you leave the banquet tonight, my grandmother will blame me.”
“At a time like this, who cares about the banquet? Let Miss Land handle it herself, Eliza scoffed.
Julia Land pretended not to see, too disinterested in their affectionate exchanges, she spoke coldly, “Miss Shaw grabbed my arm herself when I wanted to leave. She fell on her own; what has it got to do with me? Anyway, I did not push her deliberately.”
She tried to leave after speaking.
Noah Quarter looked coldly at Julia, “Whether you pushed her or not, you’ve hurt someone; you should apologize.”
“Apologize? What if I refuse? Julia smirked provocatively, her beauty marked by defiance as if no one could bring her down.
“What will Director Quarter threaten me with if I don’t apologize?”
Noah frowned, his eyes troubled.
Right now, the priority was to take Arabella to the hospital to check her ankle. Carrying her, he turned and walked away.
Julia took a deep breath, clenched her fist–annoying trash!
“Noah, put me down, others will see, I… Arabella bit her red lip, her face sorrowful, tears streaming continuously, “put me down.
Seeing Arabella’s distressed expression, Noah’s heart softened; if it weren’t for him, Arabella wouldn’t have to feel so wronged, he comforted her gently, “It’s okay, I’ll carry you.”
Eliza deliberately bumped into Julia.
Wearing high heels tonight, Julia staggered from the bump and hit her lower back against the wall’s edge.
She grunted and held onto the wall, pain coursing through her lower back.
In haste, she grabbed Eliza’s dress and yanked it backwards, catching Eliza off guard, who fell backward.
“Julia Land!”
“If you want to embarrass yourself, yell louder.”
After all, the scene was taking place at a banquet.

Julia looked down at her once and left with a cold face.
Noah Quarter left the banquet carrying a woman, spotted by others.
They couldn’t clearly see the woman in Noah’s arms, but one by one, they looked at Julia with eyes full of schadenfreude.
Julia let them size her up.
Mrs. Leah Thompson holding a wine glass, apologized to the guests, “A relative’s daughter sprained her ankle, Noah is taking her to the hospital. I hope it does not dampen your spirits this
evening.
With Mrs. Thompson speaking so openly, there wasn’t much gossip.
“Come with me,” Mrs. Thompson said in a lowered, chilly voice, calling Julia.
In the VIP lounge, Mrs. Thompson sat.
Julia stood.
*Julia Land, what is today about? Why are you pushing people at a banquet?”
Mrs. Thompson was very angry; none were reliable.
She wasn’t specifically advocating for Arabella, she just didn’t want the Quarter Family to become gossip fodder.
“I didn’t push her, Julia stated flatly.
Mrs. Thompson looked at Julia coldly, “I don’t care whether you pushed her or not, I don’t want such matters to be ridiculed publicly. Alright, you can leave.”
Julia left the VIP lounge, feeling restless inside.
It was the irritation of wanting to escape but having to bow down to reality.
Being one of the hosts of the night’s banquet, Julia still had to wear a mask to deal with the
guests.
After the banquet, she rubbed her sore lower back and sat on the couch of the VIP reception, waiting to speak with the hotel manager.
She wanted to ask for the CCTV footage from near the restroom area.
The ringtone on her phone rang, it was Noah Quarter.
Julia didn’t pick up, acting as if she didn’t see it.
In the hospital, Noah’s expression turned even colder. With Julia not answering the call, he switched to sending a text.
[Julia, don’t return to Jade Gardens tonight, I’ve told Grandma we’re staying out]
Julia saw the message and scoffed.
What the hell kind of night is it.

18 Chapter 10 Like the Bewitching Child
The Noble Grid Hotel’s top floor had only one large suite, used especially to host VIP guests, complete with an outdoor swimming pool.
A man with a slender, handsome figure emerged from the swimming pool.
The hotel’s general manager respectfully handed a towel to the man, “Mr. Thompson.”
James Thompson took the towel, wiped his hair and body, put on a white bathrobe, and appeared indifferent, “Is there something the matter?”
The general manager smiled, “I’ve brought a woman for a relieving massage.”
A woman in a white dress stood nearby, her face both excited and shy.
Those who stayed on this level had very good statuses.
She was very confident in her own figure and appearance.
James Thompson picked up a cigarette box, sat down, and watched her with a half–smile, “Since when does our hotel offer this kind of service? I don’t like the innocent type
The general manager was taken aback, not understanding the man’s intention, “Should I find someone else?”
Generally, don’t men like those who appear innocent outside but are wild in bed?
He liked that type.
James Thompson squinted his deep eyes, pushed down the lighter, fumbled with it a few times, and chuckled lightly, “I prefer the enchanting type.”
The general manager nodded with a smile and asked, “Should I go find an enchanting one?”
James Thompson lit a cigarette, carelessly went cold–faced suddenly, “Our hotel doesn’t need. this kind of service, it lowers the tone. You can leave Noble Grid tomorrow”
The general manager felt a sweat break out on his back.
He was finished.
The general manager’s phone suddenly rang, and he panickedly tried to turn it off, but his chubby fingers trembled and hit the answer button then speakerphone.
In a flurry,
the call connected:
“General manager, Director Quarter’s wife wants to see the video footage from tonight.” reported the hotel manager in charge of planning the evening’s banquet.
The hotel’s footage couldn’t be shared casually with guests due to other guests‘ privacy
concerns.
This kind of matter required the general manager’s consent.
Glancing at James Thompson, the general manager forced an awkward smile then spoke into the

He went to hang up, but a hand with distinct knuckles reached out and took the phone.
“Which Director Quarter?”
The person in charge paused, confused by the change in speaker but also clever, “The Chairman of Quarter Group.”
James Thompson, his mouth clenching a cigarette, leaned lazily in the chair, “What happened?”
The person spoke softly, “There seems to be a minor issue at the banquet, but I’m not sure what
it is.
“Bring them up to the top floor.
James Thompson hung up the call, tossed the phone
out what happened.”
the sweating general manager, “Go find
The general manager’s face showed a surprised delight, bursting with relief, “Yes.”
He hurriedly left, signaling to the innocent–looking girl to leave quickly.
Julia Land followed the hotel manager in the elevator to the top floor.
“Mrs. Quarter, please come in,” said the hotel manager as he opened the door.
Julia Land looked inside the room but didn’t enter immediately, frowning, “Why discuss matters
here?”
Who discusses business with strangers in a hotel room?
Julia Land took a step back, eyeing the hotel manager warily.
She held her cell phone, already having stealthily unlocked it.
If anything seemed off, she would press the emergency call button.
The hotel manager,
Discussing here was not quite right.
But he didn’t dare offend the person inside, and he also knew why Mrs. Quarter was called up to
talk.
James Thompson, wrapped in his bathrobe, sat at the bar, swirling his drink, having heard Julia Land’s cautious question at the door.
