21 Chapter 21 Secretary Land Has Not Yet Boarded the Car
On the plane, Trevor Sullivan turned to the man reading a medical book and asked, “Why did you suddenly decide to go to Grand City?”
Why did he have to drag him along?
“I’m going to perform surgery on a patient”
And to see someone.
“No, bro, if you’re going to operate on a patient, why do you need me?”
That was the real issue.
James Thompson took the coffee that the flight attendant brought over, thanked her, and then replied to Trevor, “You’re definitely useful.”
Trevor thought there might be something the Thompson family’s prince couldn’t handle alone and wanted him to show off, and he was momentarily pleased.
But he hadn’t expected James’s mention of being useful was to have him act as a delivery man.
To be a daily delivery guy, sending food and drinks to that woman named Julia Land.
Trevor, “My net worth is in the hundreds of millions, and I need to brave the wind and rain?”
James ignored his protest. “You’re the old man, what does that make me?”
Trevor, “You’re the old man’s father.
James scoffed at him, “I certainly didn’t beget such a sentimental son.”
Trevor was a romantic, the type to leave love everywhere, though it was all transactional and consensual.
When they reached Grand City at noon that day, Trevor resignedly rode a brand–new scooter to deliver a loving meal to Julia Land.
“Miss Land, there’s a takeout order placed by Mr. Thompson for you.”
Julia, confused after receiving the phone call.
She knew only one Mr. Thompson, and that was James Thompson.
Julia walked out of the technology park and saw an exceptionally handsome delivery man.
“Miss Land”
“Yes, thank you!
“You’re welcome.”
Delivery man Trevor quickly glanced at Julia.
Seeing her in person.
This woman had a seductive appearance.

He hadn’t expected James to have such a taste?
Holding the insulated box, Julia watched the delivery man’s departing figure and took out her phone to call James.
The man who answered quickly said, “You’ll have food delivered to you every lunch and dinner.
Please eat well.”
Julia’s lips curled up, the fatigue of recent days vanished, and her voice hoarse, “Thank you, Mr. Thompson.”
James smiled faintly, “I’ll hang up now.”
He was truly busy in Grand City; the operation was risky, and they needed to discuss the procedure.
Julia put away her phone, holding the insulated box, prepared to turn back into the technology park when she heard a woman’s voice calling her..
“Secretary Land”
Julia turned her head and saw Arabella Shaw sitting in a wheelchair.
Arabella was in disguise, and her agent was pushing her wheelchair.
“Secretary Land, could you please take me to see Noah? Would that be okay?”
Julia raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.
She led them to security to register and then took them inside the factory.
“Secretary Land, I’m really sorry about the incident at the banquet, Arabella said softly, “Noah and Little Min were just worried about me.”
“Oh, you meant to apologize to me, Julia said lightly, “You might want to say that again.”
Arabella, “…
Julia gave Arabella a sidelong smirk, “Why bother pretending? There’s no one else here.
That remark was really asking for a slap.
Arabella lowered her eyes, apologetically submissive, “I’m sorry.”
Julia’s lips turned up; she almost forgot she hadn’t yet sent Noah the video from Noble Grid Hotel.
She took out her phone, sent Noah the video, and maliciously forwarded a news article she found online.
[Old lady falls, accuses the man who helped her up of bumping into her–is it the decay of morals or the absence of humanity?]
[Director, your sister owes me an apology, and so does your beloved Miss Arabella. Please ask her to stop pulling at me in the future.]
Back in the factory office.

He picked it up and saw two videos sent by Julia Land.
One was from the banquet at the Noble Grid Hotel, featuring Arabella Shaw falling down, and the scene following it showed Julia being pushed into a wall by his sister.
When he saw the satirical news about an old lady pulling a scam that Julia also sent, along with her messages, Noah’s cool expression darkened.
Noah: “Sorry”
Upon reading these words, Julia sneered: “I want to see Little Violet.”
She wouldn’t feel at ease without seeing Little Violet with her own eyes.
Although Noah still felt somewhat remorseful, upon seeing Julia taking the opportunity to ask to see Violet, he displeasedly sent a single word: “Okay”
The factory district was vast.
Julia took Arabella Shaw to Noah’s temporary office, then carried the insulated box to the dining
area.
Secing Arabella approaching, his gaze fell on her still injured foot, and he felt a trace of displeasure, “You’re being reckless, not healing properly. Why did you come here?”
“I was just worried about you and wanted to come and see. I’ll be going back tomorrow.”
Arabella got off her wheelchair and hopped on one foot toward Noah.
Noah quickly stood up, “Stop, don’t hop.”
He was helpless, but couldn’t bring himself to get angry.
Arabella wrapped her arms around his waist, smiled, tilted her head up, and kissed him, “I’ve missed you terribly today.”
That evening, Noah wanted to treat everyone to dinner, as everyone had been working hard.
Julia sent a message to James Thompson, telling him she wouldn’t need his help with dinner that night.
The most famous cuisine in Grand City was Cantonese, and they had reserved a Cantonese
restaurant.
A table was booked.
When they sat down, there was a slight hiccup.
The former factory director had been dismissed over the recent fire incident,
And the newly appointed Director Langston pulled out a chair near to Noah for Julia, “Mrs. Quarter, please.”
Arabella, sitting in her wheelchair to Noah’s left, found the words “Mrs. Quarter” particularly grating to the car.
Julia smiled politely at Director Langston, “No need, I’ll sit next to Secretary Strong

“Oh, right, sure,” mumbled Director Langston, feeling somewhat embarrassed.
He had seen the news about Director Quarter and Miss Shaw before, things must be really
complicated.
Noah glanced at Julia, then coolly shifted his gaze away.
During the meal, Arabella picked Noah’s previously favorite dish for him, softening his aloof expression.
He picked out fish for her, removing the bones.
This meal made one thing clear to the observant.
Director Quarter’s true love was Miss Shaw.
And Secretary Land was probably just the nominal Mrs. Quarter in public view.
Alexander Strong, worried Julia might feel she lost face, picked up a Cantonese dumpling for her, “Cantonese dumplings, try one.”
Julia smiled and thanked him, appreciating Alexander’s gesture.
But she didn’t feel she lost any face at all.
She had realized her place in Noah’s heart.
Now that she had decided to let go, whatever happened between Noah and Arabella wouldn’t affect her mood anymore.
The Cantonese cuisine was quite good, but Julia only dared to eat till she was seventy percent full, then put down her chopsticks.
“Secretary Land, not to your liking?” Alexander inquired.
“I’m on a diet, replied Julia.
She was determined to slim down her belly further, especially remembering her jeans zipper sliding down.
After the meal, the group dispersed.
Several senior factory executives saw Noah to his car at the door.
Once again, they were made aware of who really mattered to Director Quarter.
Director Quarter personally helped Miss Shaw into the car.
After the bodyguard folded up the wheelchair, the car drove off.
Secretary Land had yet to get into a car.
