“Arabella is pregnant, Julia Land, you’re preparing to leave the Quarter Family
A week after Julia Land had been recuperating at James Thompson’s house, she received this message from Eliza Quarter.
Eliza had sent several gleeful messages in a row.
Julia just replied indifferently with two words: “Congratulations.”
She really hadn’t expected Arabella Shaw to be pregnant.
Julia smiled faintly, thinking it was good.
When Eliza saw Julia’s casually written reply, she scoffed. She turned to Arabella, “Sister Arabella, have you told my brother about the pregnancy?”
Arabella caressed her belly, her eyes filled with tenderness and bitterness, “Your brother has been busy with the factory affairs in Grand City recently. I don’t want to disturb him right now and, moreover, Eliza, I can’t keep this child.”
As she finished, tears began to flow.
Eliza was shocked, “Why can’t you keep it?”
“It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have done this; regardless of everything, your brother and Julia Land have a marital relationship. Does this make me a mistress he keeps outside? Eliza, I can’t keep this child. I can’t let the child be born out of wedlock. Please don’t tell your brother about my
pregnancy.”
The pain was evident in Arabella’s eyes.
Eliza paced back and forth, then went over to hold Arabella’s hand.
Angry, she said, “Sister Arabella, the child must be kept. My brother has always loved you. If it were not for Grandma Quarter constantly pressuring my brother to marry Julia… Wait, I’ll tell Grandma. She really wants a grandson.”
She grabbed her purse and left.
“Sister Arabella, wait for the good news.”
“Eliza, wait, Eliza…
Eliza went to Jade Gardens to find Grandma Quarter.
She told her about Arabella’s
pregnancy.
Grandma Quarter sighed, “Your brother is coming back from Grand City the day after tomorrow. Call Arabella here then.
“Grandma, do you agree to let Sister Arabella and my brother be together?”
Joy appeared on Eliza’s face.
Grandma Quarter said nothing, simply telling her to go back first.

Eliza left Jade Gardens overjoyed, while Arabella, upon hearing the news from Eliza, was both nervous and excited.
Meanwhile, Julia Land received a call from Grandma Quarter, mentally prepared.
*Julia, Noah is coming back the day after tomorrow. You come back too, we have something to
discuss.”
“Okay, Grandma.”
Julia blinked her lovely eyes, a faint smile playing on her lips as she hung up the phone.
Leo Thompson had just helped a woman deliver her child.
The father couldn’t contain his joy as he thanked him.
“Congratulations.”
“Thank you, Doctor Thompson.”
Leo Thompson stepped out of the delivery room, bought a can of cold drink, and went to the smoking area to have a smoke.
He thought of Julia Land and looked at his wristwatch.
At this time, she was usually lying on the couch, binge–watching some dull TV drama.
Leo called her.
No answer came from the other end; he wondered if she might be caught up in an exciting moment of the show.
Leo, a tad bored himself, smoked and called Julia.
After one unanswered call, he dialed a second time.
When Julia eventually picked up the phone and saw a dozen missed calls from Leo, her instinctive response was to wonder if there was an emergency.
She quickly called him back.
Leo held the cigarette in his mouth, his voice muffled and husky, “Do you want to go out for dinner tonight?”
*… Did you seriously call me a dozen times just to ask me out to dinner? Julia’s tone was a bit helpless.
Her voice struck Leo as both tender and soft.
He laughed lowly, removing the cigarette from his lips, “Dinner together is clearly very important.”
Thinking of her return to Jade Gardens the day after tomorrow, Julia said in response to Leo’s invitation, “I’ll treat you. I’ve been meaning to take you out to dinner, but there wasn’t a chance. Tonight is perfect.”

Julia disliked taking medicine, always fussing about it.
But now, Leo would always remind her to take her pills.
Julia Land hummed a response, “I’ve caten.”
“Mr. Thompson.”
“You got it wrong, ‘Brother Qin, ‘Ah–Zhi‘, or ‘Zhi–Brother, pick one.”
The man spoke with a lazy tone, yet it carried an air of seriousness.
Julia Land burst into laughter.
She deliberately opted for a different choice, “Uncle, I have to return to Jade Gardens the day
after tomorrow.”
Arabella Shaw was pregnant.
Who knew what would happen this time.
“You’re not happy?” James Thompson caught the chill in her tone. He flicked his cigarette butt, “You’re not happy? Want uncle to cheer you up?”
“Cheer you up.”
His words were incredibly tender.
Julia’s heart skipped a beat, her eyebrows slightly knitting together as she explained, “Arabella Shaw is pregnant. I’m not sad, you don’t need to cheer me up, I’m just irritated.”
James asked her to hang up first and wait for him, he said he would make a video to cheer her

Julia hung up, waiting with a bit of anticipation.
She had no idea what kind of video he would send to amuse her.
It didn’t take long for Julia to receive the video from James.
He slightly lifted his sharp jawline, his well–defined fingers holding a can of cold beverage, the pronounced Adam’s apple visibly rolling with his swallows, he licked the water from his thin lips.
The man curled up the corners of his mouth, with a lazy smile.
“Little Julia.”
Julia put down her phone, touching her heated face.
This man was seducing her!
James Thompson chuckled after sending the video.
He remembered Sophia Hart sneaking off to watch some hunky men’s show, and how happy she looked when she returned; that’s what gave him the idea to make this video to coax Julia.

The thought of Arabella Shaw’s pregnancy cooled his expression.
Doctors generally struggle to leave work on time.
Today, James Thompson clocked out on the dot.
A nurse asked him, “Doctor Thompson, do you have a date tonight?”
Her question was really probing whether he had a girlfriend.
Both nurses assigned to Doctor Thompson were married women with children; her inquiry was purely matchmaking.
James responded with a faint smile, “I do have a date, a date with a sponsor.”

In fact, her outfit was Sophia Hart’s handiwork.
