Chapter 12
Yvette did not dare to lie to a doctor, so she told Zephyr the truth.
After hearing the story, Zephyr rewrapped the bandage exactly as it had been before and stood up, moving his medical kit aside.
Yvette was surprised by his strange actions.
Wasn’t he supposed to check her wound? Why did he rebandage it?
After sending a few messages on his phone, Zephyr picked up his keys from the table and turned to her. “Let’s go. You’ll need to get a proper checkup at the hospital.”
“That’s not necessary. I already had it checked at the hospital in Jurbane. The doctors there said everything was fine and discharged me.”
Yvette’s declines fell on deaf ears.
Zephyr fixed her with a steady gaze. Though he looked firm, his voice was gentle. “It’s best to do a comprehensive checkup after a car accident. Besides, you still want to draw in the future, don’t you?”
Yvette was persuaded by that last sentence. She immediately stood up and followed him out.
They went to the nearest hospital and got Yvette another full–body examination.
When the results confirmed that everything was fine, Yvette breathed a sigh of relief.
She turned to Zephyr, who was applying medicine to her wound intently, and thanked him sincerely. “Thank you, Dr. Turner.”
“You’re welcome. Just call me Zephyr.”
Zephyr?
That couldn’t be right.
They had only met for the first time today, and he was her brother’s friend. It seemed inappropriate to address him in such an informal way.
Yvette did not answer, inwardly fretting over his suggestion. Just then, her phone chimed.
She picked it up with her left hand and saw a text from Sean. “Where did you go? Are you shy? Zephyr’s a good fiancé, isn’t he? I picked him out for you.”
Yvette froze when she saw the word fiancé.
Fiancé?
Zephyr was her fiancé?
Shocked by the news, she drew back her hand suddenly and stared at the man in front of her.
