Everyone in the room was stunned by Damon’s words. After all, Damon had stayed overseas and kept his distance from the Lundberg family for years after everything that happened with his mother.
Everyone knew he hated Anthony and despised the Lundberg family. He’d never shown any. interest in stepping foot in the Lundberg residence.
Moreover, given his illegitimate status, the Lundbergs had always looked down on him. They feared he might return to fight for the family fortune, so they never gave him any attention.
But now, out of nowhere, Damon had come back to propose taking over the Lundberg family.
Elliott’s face twisted with anger, and he immediately snapped. “Take over? Who do you think you are? You’re not the one who makes the decisions in this family.”
Damon didn’t flinch. “That isn’t up to you to decide. Starting today, I’ll be living here in the Lundberg residence.”
He then turned to Anthony. “What do you think, Dad?”
I thought that Anthony had always resented Damon, that he saw him as a stain on the family because of his illegitimate status.
But when Damon called him “Dad“, I saw Anthony’s eyes suddenly glisten with tears. This wasn’t the reaction of a man who hated his child.
“Edward, prepare a room for Damon,” Anthony said, waving his hand. The family butler, Edward Barber, hurried off to carry out the order, almost as if he feared Damon might change
his mind.
Elliott wasn’t happy with the decision and immediately objected. “Dad, this doesn’t seem right
“Shut up!” Anthony snapped. “He’s your brother. What’s wrong with him staying here? He’s been doing fine abroad without my help. But look at the mess your son has made.”
Mentioning Shane set him off again. “And I just saw those rumors online about Ally being a fraud and a fake. Are you just going to let people talk like that about your wife?”
“Grandpa, Allison was really reckless. She ran off to Gildford without a word. I wanted to teach
her a lesson.”
“You have the nerve to call her reckless? If you hadn’t run away from your wedding, do you think she would have gone to Gildford? Don’t you remember what happened that year?
“The Lundberg family’s finances collapsed. If she hadn’t begged Levi to step in, do you really think we could have gotten through that crisis?”

Anthony landed several hard strikes at Shane again. “You ungrateful jackass! I should just beat you to death.”
“Dad, please. If you injure him too badly, how is he supposed to go to Gildford and bring Ally back?” Elliott quickly begged. “Besides,
$ cares about him the most. She’d be devastated if she saw him hurt.”
Only then did Anthony drop the whip. “You shithead! Bring Ally back now!” With that, he left with Damon, not sparing a single glance at Shane.
“You’ve done well abroad. If you ever want to come back, that’s fine with me,” Anthony said.
Damon merely replied with an indifferent hum.
Only a few people remained in the living room. Natalie helped Amber up, checking for any injuries. Meanwhile, Shane stood with his head lowered, his face dark and unreadable.
Elliott helped him to his feet. His heart felt heavy as he looked at Shane’s lacerated back. “Dad went too far this time. Edward, call Dr. Burton.”
“Yes, sir.”
After Shane had been treated and lay down on the bed, I paced restlessly by his si
side.
Those people were going to tear my skin off. It seemed they planned to leave me with a broken
corpse.
I didn’t know if that was the reason I was still left wandering around in this world, but I wished someone would find my body and lay me to rest.
When would Shane realize that I had already died?
