Chapter 91
It was when she took out the necklace I wore on my wedding day that everything became clear.
That was the necklace Grandma gave me.
Back then, Mom reduced my dowry just because of Amber, which left me without any presentable jewelry on the day of my marriage.
Grandma couldn’t stand it, so she passed me the engagement necklace that Grandpa gave her.
This diamond necklace was a rare treasure worn by some queen a few centuries ago. It was also the most valuable jewelry in Grandma’s collection. She told me that her granddaughter should look presentable when getting married.
Even at that moment, I could still remember how Grandma’s gaze was filled with anticipation
when she helped set my hair gently.
She wished that I could pass this necklace down as a legacy. Never did she know that I was murdered less than 24 hours after putting it on, and the one who murdered me was my own
sister.
After learning the truth, my heart ached terribly.
Why? Shane had already fallen for her back then. He even climbed into her bed with her on our wedding night. She had won! Why did she still need to kill me? I was her sister!
Grandma’s gaze suddenly started to focus. She first grabbed the necklace to inspect it carefully. After making sure it was not a high–quality replica, she immediately struggled to stand up.
Because of her weak knees, she had to hold on tightly to her walking stick as she trudged over
toward Amber.
“Where did you hide your sister? Why are you doing this?” Grandma shouted.
Those few steps sapped almost all of Grandma’s energy, leaving her shaking all over in her
vexed state.
Seeing Grandma with a full head of white hair in that pitiful state did not stir even the slightest concern in Amber’s heart.
Instead, her gaze was filled with disdain, sitting there without any intention of moving an
inch.
“Why, you ask? I spent many years wandering the streets while she enjoyed the love and care from all of you. Why must she be given all the good stuff? I’m your granddaughter too! Why do you always favor her?”
Grandma was infuriated. “Ever since you came back, everyone in our family loved you dearly

and wanted to make it up to you, yet what did you do to Allison? How shameless do you have to be to say such things.”
Amber played with her nails. “Well, I won’t talk about it then. I’m only here for one thing. Will you give me those shares or not?”
It seemed that she grew tired of keeping up her meek act. Now that our family wasn’t around, she planned to do things forcefully.
Grandma stabbed her walking stick down harshly “In your dreams. I won’t give you any of the shares even if I die.”
It was as if Grandma’s response was well within her expectations. Amber scoffed and said, ” Don’t worry. I don’t want you dead. However, don’t forget that Allison is in my hands. I can do anything I want to her.”
“You dare?” Grandma slapped Amber fiercely across the face. “Release her! She’s your sister!”
Amber puffed up her cheek, then grinned coldly. “You’ll pay for slapping me today, old hag.”
Having said that, she made a call on her phone. “It’s me. Chop off one of Allison’s fingers.”
My eyes popped wide open. Was I not dead? What the hell was she trying to do?
Grandma didn’t believe Amber would do something like that. “Girl, don’t try to scare me with that. Even if she’s not your sister, how do you plan to maintain your position in the family if you harm her? I…”
She was cut off by a message notification.
Amber’s phone just received a new message. She opened it and zoomed in on the image, clearly showing a chopped finger.
