Chapter 96
“No! Let Grandma go, Amber!” I yelled at the top of my lungs.
The chilly winds gushed into the room, blowing out the candles in the meditation corner.
Amber stepped her heel on Grandma’s hand with her heels. I could even make out Amber crushing the hand.
Holding her phone with a smile, she taunted, “Are you going to call for help? Do you really think I’m going to keep you alive after I told you the truth?”
Grandma’s eyes were colored with rage as she struggled to get up. However, she was already sick then, on top of her hand being stepped on by Amber. She wriggled with all her might on the floor, but it was futile.
“Why, Amber? Why do you have to be so cruel? Did Ally wrong you in any way?” Grandma’s hoarse voice echoed in the room.
“Ask her when you’re in hell.” Still stepping on Grandma’s hand, Amber slowly crouched. Although she wasn’t heavy, her weight still caused Grandma a lot of pain.
An agonizing look flashed across Grandma’s face, but Amber was oblivious to her suffering. Stone–faced, she asked, “Old hag, want to guess where Ally’s ashes are?”
Grandma’s face visibly paled. “W–What have you done?”
Even her lips were trembling in horror.
Amber chuckled softly. “Of course, I’ll have to leave her ashes by her family’s side. One example would be Shane’s bracelet. He wouldn’t stop talking about searching for Allison, but I’ve already returned Allison to him. Oh, as for Dad and Mom…‘
Amber’s eyes fell on the porcelain plate with fruits in it. She turned the plate over, spilling its contents around, and traced the plate with her fingers. “Isn’t this your favorite plate? It contains your granddaughter’s ashes.
“W–What did you say?” The revelation was a bombshell for Grandma, who gagged a little as she had been using that set of tableware for her meals lately. She never suspected for a second that my ashes were in there!
She didn’t throw up much, probably because she didn’t take much food that day. She struggled to get up from the floor, only to see Amber throwing the plate onto the ground. The plate shattered into pieces.
But revenge was not Grandma’s priority at that moment. She instinctively picked up the pieces from the floor while muttering, “Oh, my Ally, my Ally…”
I would have cried my eyes out if I could. I couldn’t grasp the reason Amber had to take it so

far. She seemed to revel in Grandma’s suffering.
“Old hag, Allison had no one else but herself to blame. She shouldn’t have taken my man from me. Too bad she’s your granddaughter. She deserved it!”
A chilling glint flashed across Grandma’s eyes. The next moment, she lunged at Amber, clutching the shard in her hand. It turned out she had been waiting for the right time to attack Amber.
Unfortunately, Amber successfully dodged the attack because Grandma was old and slow. Kicking Grandma, she spat, “You old witch! Are you seriously thinking of killing me? Dream on!”
Grandma fell hard on the floor again, but this time, she never got up.
Panicking, I kneeled beside Grandma and repeatedly called out to her, “Grandma, please don’t scare me. I don’t want anything happening to you. Get up!”
Right as Amber was about to strike again, a scream cut through the air.
Turning around, I found Mom–standing at the door with a terrified look. “Oh my god! What’s going on here?” she exclaimed.
