Lucas, worried that I might feel troubled by recent events, deliberately freed up a lot of time to take me out to eat, drink, and have fun. Spending time with him made my wolf incredibly happy–even stronger.
He was always concerned that I might be upset.
Holding tightly onto his broad shoulders, I said, “I’m not upset, really. Just regretful. I can’t believe I wasted so much of my youth loving someone so revolting.”
He wrapped his arms around me, kissing my forehead gently.
“It’s okay. I’m here now. From now on, I’ll personally fill your days with happiness.”
We kissed passionately, and at that moment, I could feel my wolf’s excitement rising too. But then, he stopped.
“Babe, when the time is right, I’ll savor every part of you. But not now.”
Blushing deeply, I nodded. He kissed me with incredible tenderness, our tongues intertwining. In each other’s arms, we drifted off to sleep.
On my birthday night, Lucas rented out the most expensive rooftop restaurant with a sea view in the city. I thought he just wanted to celebrate my birthday.
Unexpectedly, across the sea, words lit up on a skyscraper. [Alice, will you marry me?]
Hundreds of drones danced in the night sky, creating images one after another–symbols of love, including the Moon Goddess bestowing blessings, a heart–shaped cake, wedding rings, and Cupid’s arrow.
Lucas stood before me, draped in the signature cloak of the wolf pack, his eyes wild yet sincere. Dropping to one knee, he held out a ring symbolizing a lifelong promise.
From hidden corners, the leaders of various wolf packs stepped forward, applauding.
Taking a deep breath, Lucas looked up at me reverently.
“Alice, our engagement was originally just an agreement between our families. Today, I want to ask you something, as Lucas–not as someone bound by a family contract. Alice Garner, will you marry me?”
Tears welled
