Chapter 100
“Go to sleep.”
Autumn had arrived, and it was too cold to go without a blanket at night. As Angelina nestled in Chester’s arms, she felt a sudden surge of melancholy.
In the end, he was destined to be with Rosalind. But she was finding it difficult to let go of him.
Sleeping beside him was warm and comforting. She loved the way he held her as they drifted off to sleep and the subtle scent of soap that lingered on him.
The next morning, Chester had completely bounced back
When the world was still cloaked in soft hues and the morning light painted half the sky red, he drove to a private club in the city instead of going for his usual run.
Although Louis was hungover from the night before, he still woke up and did his morning workout routine. He was on the treadmill, half wasted when a surprise blow caught him off guard.
He touched the corner of his lips and felt blood.
Before he could react, Chester grabbed him and lifted him up. In an attempt to fight back, Louis sent a kick toward him, but Chester dodged it and delivered a fierce uppercut to his jaw.
The gym erupted in chaos, and several people rushed over.
“Louis, are you okay?”
Louis‘ lips split, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. “Hold him down.”
This was his turf, and there was no way he’d let Chester disrespect him here.
Louis glared at him furiously, his face bruised and battered. He shook off the hands holding him back and sent a kick at Chester, but he was too slow, and Chester countered with a powerful blow, sending him sprawling.
“Stay back!” he barked at his men when they tried to help him up.
“Louis…”
“Get lost! All of you!”
Then, he struggled to his feet, bracing himself against the wall.
“Ambushing someone? Is that all you’ve got?” Chester rolled up his sleeve as she cornered Louis and gripped his neck, pushing him into the wall.
Louis didn’t resist and took two more punches without flinching.

Seeing that he wasn’t fighting back, Chester delivered a kick that knocked him to the ground. Standing tall, he glared down at Louis with cold disdain.
Clutching his abdomen, Louis puffed out his cheeks and challenged, “Is this the strength you
used?”
Chester didn’t bother responding and turned to leave, but Louis staggered to his feet, shoving away the hand of his subordinates.
“Is this the strength you used to bully Angelina? Is this how you make her yield to you?” Louis ‘ voice cracked, and his eyes pooled with tears. “Hit me all you want, but leave her alone. Let her be free and make her own choice.”
Chester turned back to him with a sharp gaze. “If you’ve got what it takes, let her leave with you.”
When Angelina woke up, Chester was already gone. She got up and went to Florence’s place, where she was helped to prepare breakfast. By the time he returned, she was setting the food on the table, her hair neatly braided.
“You’re back. Come eat.‘
She walked up to him and hugged him despite his sweat–soaked shirt.
“Let me shower first.” He was embarrassed by his smell.
“I’m sorry. I won’t force you to eat spicy food again. It was all my fault,” she whispered, her voice tinged with guilt.
Chester froze for a moment, then reached out to pat her head. “You should cut back too. It’s bad for your stomach.”

She looked at him with utmost seriousness and stated, “My stomach’s fine. But if I go too long without spicy food, I feel off.”
As they sat down to eat, Angelina suddenly noticed the injuries on his face had worsened. “I’ve decided I’m going to join Isa and help her with design work. Although I don’t know anything yet, I can start from scratch, even if it’s just running errands at first.”
“Are you sure you’re okay with that?”
After all, the female side character was known for her pride and always strived to outdo others despite her average abilities.
Angelina rested her chin on her hand and smiled faintly. “Sometimes, people just have to admit they’re ordinary. Sure, everyone wants the best, but it’s important to know your limits. Starting from the bottom and working hard is the only real way forward.”
