Chester had lived for over 20 years without ever holding a woman’s hand. All he thought about
was his business ventures.
His friends used to bet that he’d still be single at 40, while Alexander, who had grown up with a childhood sweetheart, would be the first to marry.
But fate had other plans. Chester turned out to be the first among them to marry and become a
father.
No one had high expectations for Angelina. They put on a polite front but privately assumed Chester married her only because of the child.
Ryan narrowed his eyes slightly. “Are you serious? You’re really planning to spend the rest of your life with Angelina?”
“She didn’t abandon me even though I have nothing now. She cares about my family and hast become my anchor, so what do you mean by that?”
Chester gritted his teeth and grabbed Ryan by the collar. “What else did Louis ask you to do, huh? Help him steal my wife? Are you my friend or his?”
“Wait, stop! I told you about it! You said you didn’t care!”
“Stop, my ass!” With that, Chester threw a punch at Ryan.
Ryan was stunned. “Chester, are you crazy? Chester!”
Ryan stormed off and complained to Alexander, “Look! He hit me just because Louis asked me to help him. He hit me because of three million dollars! Look at how bad it is. He messed up my face! Should I ask him to pay for it?”
“I’ll pay on his behalf. How much?”
“Do you
even have a heart? Who the hell cares about the money? I’m talking about the fact that he hit me and messed up my face!”
Ryan leaned in closer, shoving his face closer to Joshua. “Look at this! Look at what Chester

Isadora sat in a café, wearing a white embroidered dress. She was waiting for a client to arrive.
With her client being a foreigner, she chose to showcase the beauty of retro aesthetics to leave
Charger as
a striking impression. Foreigners often appreciated old–school charm.
She glanced at her reflection and double–checked the contracts she brought before taking a
deep breath. If this deal went smoothly, it would secure her studio’s first big break
Before long, a man entered the café. Guided by the staff, he approached her table.
Isadora’s expression immediately changed.
It couldn’t be. There were so many foreigners in Brookhaven. What were the odds?
When Jerry saw her, his eyes widened in recognition.

“You’re Ms. Whitmore?”
“Mr. Jerry Holmes?”
Once he confirmed it was her, Jerry’s expression darkened, and he turned to leave.
“Wait, Mr. Holmes!”
The awkward incident from last time was still fresh in her mind.
“I’m Isadora, the head of Isa Studios. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Isadora reached out her hand, forcing a smile.
Jerry glanced at her hand. “Of course, I know you. If I didn’t, I’d be blind.”
Thinking about what had happened last time, Isadora wished she could turn back time. Had she known he would become the first potential client of her studio, she would never have
treated him that way.
“Mr. Holmes, about what happened last time, there was a bit of a misunderstanding. You know my sister–in–law, right? Would you be interested in hearing my explanation?”
“Sorry, no.”
Why would he be interested when one of them tricked him and another insulted him? All he wanted to do was turn around and leave..
“Wait, Mr. Holmes, please don’t go. Mr. Holmes!”
Isadora chased after Jerry outside, but he had already gotten into his car. The vehicle sped off, leaving her running after him in her heels.
“Mr. Holmes!”
